The State Leadership Initiative is proud to present The State DOGE Playbook—a practical blueprint for bringing the proven efficiency, accountability, and results of Florida’s DOGE initiative and other like-minded efforts to every state that is serious about reforming government and delivering for its citizens.
SLI was honored to play a small supporting role in Florida DOGE’s efforts. We saw firsthand how a focused, first-principles team—armed with the right authority, data access, and relentless execution—can cut waste, expose fraud, and restore control to elected leaders. This document exists to carry that winning blueprint forward. It equips governors, legislators, and reform-minded executives with the exact legal vehicles, team structures, analytical methods, and implementation steps needed to stand up their own state DOGE and achieve similar victories.
At SLI, our mission is simple and uncompromising: we evangelize and actively support the implementation of serious, structural government reforms that dismantle the administrative state, eliminate sacred cows, and put quality governance back in the driver’s seat.
State-level DOGE efforts are proof that when conservatives stop managing decline and start executing with boldness, real transformation follows.
We built this playbook for you. Use it. Adapt it. Win with it.
This is why states matter. If you have effective governance at home then it transforms the mood nationwide.
Florida was a purple state 8 years ago, not anymore.
Florida isn’t a national bellwether, and no one should read too much into early returns. But after weeks of hype about tightening polls and Democratic money pouring into the state, it’s notable that Republicans lead absentee returns with 800K+ ballots cast as in-person early voting opens today.
Enthusiasm matters, and so far GOP voters are showing up. #flapol
American fortune 500 companies haven't stopped their DEI discrimination, they just hide it now.
Eastman Chemical is headquarters in Tennessee and removed the DEI page in English but kept in in Spanish.
But according to their website, they still explicitly hire with the goal of "double-digit growth in racially and ethnically diverse talent."
Dow Inc. is one of the largest chemical engineering companies in America and to this day they explicitly brag about how they ethnically discriminate in their hiring process against this young man.
Texas and Louisiana also paid them nearly 800 million dollars to do so. Red states need to cut off funding to companies that refuse to hire Americans and engage in this type of discrimination.

Jack Weis has applied to more than 2,300 jobs since he graduated from Princeton in 2024 with his Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He still doesn’t have a job. on.wsj.com/4sfxSLc
For decades the left has understood this and applied it across the country.
They are willing to control the bureaucracy by any means and especially through lawfare and intimidation.
This is how a swamp is created, from DC to your state.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics.

What we call an affordability crisis is actually a regulatory crisis.
You pay more because the state and local governments are making it illegal to drive gas cars and build new housing.
Last year Wisconsin collected 3.3 billion dollar surplus.
You don’t need to tax working people’s tips. You need to cut the taxes.
Cost of ending Wisconsin tax on tips, OT pegged at $2.7B over decade jsonline.com/story/news/poli…
Until it’s explicitly cut off. It should be assumed that this is happening in every Red state.
NEW: Comptroller @DonHuffines is cutting off taxpayer funding for DEI programs.
Under a new executive order, state contractors and grant recipients must certify they aren't engaging in discriminatory DEI practices—or risk immediate termination of their agreements.
You can fire the bureaucracy and everything will work just fine.
DOGE worked. Most importantly, the civil service is 12% smaller than it was in Jan 2025.
In the Fall @CityJournal, I show they were not replaced by contractors, the biggest cuts were to middle managers, and the predictions of disaster were proven false. city-journal.org/article/dog…
Local governments are taxing Americans out of their homes so they can spend $460,000 counting trees, $150,000 on drag shows, and $75,000 on an airport hologram…
Amendment 3 could reduce property tax revenue by $2.2 billion across six Florida counties, forcing local governments to raise taxes and fees. bizjournals.com/orlando/news…

Every Red state elected official has to be a reform candidate.
Reform the bureaucracy, ignore the NGOs, cut their funding, and take a hard look at exactly what your state is doing.

Proud to have stopped illegal aliens from registering vehicles in Texas!!..
ALL states should do the same thing!!!
This is happening in Red states across the country and people have no clue.
Up until march of this year, Texas was handing out professional licenses and registering cars to illegal aliens.
Our laws have been abused for so long that any deference to the past is ceding ground to the left.
I have still not heard back from the Social Security Administration, however, a source tells me that it is likely Bazil was seeking some kind of temporary legal status at the time he got his SS card and license.
In the meantime, I just got the following statement from the Indiana BMV:
"The Indiana BMV can confirm that Mr. Franck Bazil was lawfully issued an Indiana driver’s license. Mr. Bazil applied on November 8, 2025, presenting an Employment Authorization Document reflecting lawful status and an immigration category of C08 for pending asylum, along with a Social Security card, a Massachusetts driver’s license, and proof of Indiana residency. His Indiana license included a restriction 9, indicating he is not a U.S. citizen.
Non-citizens with lawful status in the United States, as defined by IC 9-13-2-92.3, may obtain an Indiana driver’s license, provided they present acceptable documentation such as a valid U.S. visa, I‑94 arrival/departure record, permanent resident card, Employment Authorization Document, certificate of eligibility (Form I‑20 or Form DS‑2019), or an approval notice (Form I‑797A with an I‑94 attached). The BMV verifies lawful status through the federal SAVE program. Possession of a valid Indiana driver’s license does not indicate U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency; it only confirms identity and authorization to drive. Temporary lawful residents may also obtain an Indiana driver’s license."
ICE claims that Bazil was in the country illegally as of January 2024, but did not provide any other information about his status.
Undocumented immigrants (non-citizens) CAN get a SS number if they are waiting for approval for temporary legal status.
