Ethiopian army’s laughable propaganda shows no sign of slowing down. Ethiopia, the most loyal customer of Iranian-made drones in the region, is now parading its own weapons as if they belonged to the enemy. YIHA-III drones shown to diplomats as “captured from the TPLF” actually belong to the Ethiopian army itself. Jointly produced by Türkiye and Pakistan, these drones were delivered directly from Pakistan to Ethiopia last year. Unfortunately for them, @FCB6O tracked that cargo flight step by step a year ago as it flew from Karachi to Harar Meda Air Base in Bishoftu.
The evidence is clear: the shipment went to the Ethiopian army, not to Tigray. While trying to fool diplomats, Addis Ababa got caught in its own lie.

To my mind, the weakness of Tronvoll’s claim to expertise on Eritrea was already evident in his 1998 book, “Mai Weini: A Highland Village in Eritrea”. I remember discussing the flaws of its contents with one of the editors at the time . But his most revealing failure came in his 2009 report “THE LASTING STRUGGLE
FOR FREEDOM IN ERITREA” for the Oslo Center for Peace and Human Rights, when he questioned Eritrea’s overwhelming referendum result on grounds that exposed the weakness of his own reasoning and his pseudo-expertise.
“No doubt the Eritrean people wanted independence in 1993,” he conceded, before casting doubt on the 99.8 percent vote that expressed precisely that desire. His objection rested on the assumption that historical affiliations, commercial interests, and supposed communal loyalties should have produced a different result. When Eritreans failed to vote according to his expectations, he questioned their choice.
That is an extraordinary inversion of scholarly reasoning: the electorate must be suspect because it failed to confirm the expert’s assumptions.
His argument treats Afar, Kunama, merchants, Orthodox Tewahdo Christians, and highland communities as though their political choices could be deduced from selected accounts of an outsider who knew little to none about them, their suffering, their struggle and their sacrifice. Where, in that reasoning, is the Eritrean individual, the person capable of weighing experience, rejecting an earlier affiliation, and choosing independence? Shallow scholarship.
More revealing still, Tronvoll acknowledged that the “absolute majority” had no interest in the alternatives he considered meaningful. Yet instead of taking that overwhelming preference seriously, he reduced the referendum to a symbolic exercise. The circularity is striking: he conceded that Eritreans wanted independence, conceded that the overwhelming majority wanted no alternative, and nevertheless treated their overwhelming vote for independence as grounds for suspicion.
The problem was evidently not that Eritreans had failed to express their wishes. It was that their wishes left too little room for his preferred interpretation.
Eritreans did not endure decades of sacrifice to have their political agency explained away by an outside commentator. Our independence is not an academic hypothesis awaiting Tronvoll’s approval. Our sovereignty rests on our struggle and our people’s decision. It requires no certificate of legitimacy from him.
His reliance on Tekeste Negash as a source might have mislead him but that does not rescue the argument. Whatever Negash’s stated national identification, the relevant question is whether the evidence supports the conclusion. One scholar’s assumptions do not become proof merely because another scholar repeats them.
Tronvoll’s real specialty appears to be Woyane fandom masquerading as expertise. He may have compared notes with the likes of Getachew Reda, but access is no substitute for understanding. His superficial grasp of the language and culture leaves him poorly equipped to recognize the duplicity of the very political actors he presumes to explain.
That is why for an Eritrean to give Tronvoll an uncritical platform makes it a shameful exercise. Anyone presenting him as an authority should confront him with the contradiction at the heart of his own words: if he accepts that Eritreans overwhelmingly wanted independence, why does he find their overwhelming vote for independence so difficult to accept?

Ethiopia's FANO Eastern Front claims it has dealt a heavy blow to Ethiopian government forces in South Wollo. According to the group, its 1st Menelik Corps lured army units advancing from Tenta toward Guna and Tere into an encirclement using a “draw-in and strike” ambush.
FANO says that in the fierce clashes that followed, two full battalions of the government’s 35th Division were wiped out, while surviving troops fled in disarray. The group reports capturing 35 soldiers, including four commanders, one of them a lieutenant.
The seized weapons reportedly include two Bren guns, one sniper rifle, 65 Kalashnikovs, and more than 11,000 rounds of ammunition.

The body of evidence of Abiy threatening to take #Assab, #Eritrea by force is innumerable, but what he says internally and to the international community is different in language.
The following is just one example of him asking #US, #China, #Russia, #Europe, #Africa, to act as intermediary and resolve the issue. He goes on to say ....If they refuse to take us seriously & continue to waste time, they should not expect us to sit idly,I don't think so’
The following is a verbatim translation of his speech in his parliament..
‘It is possible to resolve it legally and negotiation! I have spoken to many countries bilaterally. If the council wants to know the identity of these countries…
I have spoken to #America, #China, #Russia, #Europe, #Africa… and I want to say before the Honourary Council that Ethiopia’s access to the sea is beyond question.
Because I prioritise peace and negotiation before anything, I have politely asked them to act as intermediaries and help resolve the issue.
This is our question! If they refuse to take us seriously & continue to waste time, they should not expect us to sit idly,I don't think so’

Replying to @AlArabiya_Eng
@AlArabiya_Eng is completely fabricating this news. Again- there was no military engagement between #Eritrea’n & #Ethiopia’n forces along the border. No matter how hard they try to convince the world that there was military engagement, 1000 lies will not change facts on ground. Deceiving the world as if Eritrean forces crossed the border into Ethiopia cannot grant anyone to “re-draw the border”!

In his address to the House of Peoples Representatives on 28 October 2025, the PP's leader proclaimed: "We did not start building our Navy five years ago (in 2020) to make it float in a small pool of water".
Inflammatory declaration of war in what they have termed as "projection of naval power with jurisdiction in Eritrea's southern coastal zone".
This wicked war agenda was conceived against the backdrop, and in the immediate aftermath, of the 2018 historic Agreement of Peace and Friendship between the two countries..
Smoking gun that illustrates, beyond any shred of doubt, that the war agenda was long planned by the Potemkin Party whose hallmark remains trite Machiavellian and backstabbing political traits.

Footage captures Ethiopia's FANO forces placing a captured regime YIHA-III kamikaze drone onto the bed of a pickup truck
Amid ongoing clashes between the ENDF and FANO in Ethiopia’s Amhara region, a government-operated unmanned aerial vehicle reportedly crashed. According to local sources and field command units, the drone that came down along the Mehal Meda–Zemero axis in the Menz area was identified as a YIHAI-3 (Yiha-3) loitering munition/kamikaze drone procured by the Addis Ababa government from Pakistan.
Reports from the region indicate that the federal military, sustaining losses in heavy ground fighting, deployed these kamikaze drones to exert aerial pressure over civilian settlements and militia positions; however, the aircraft crashed during operations across the Menz and Gishe district.
