“ I have 𝒏𝒐 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒂 who you are and quite frankly I don’t give a damn . Regardless I can’t imagine the blow your ego would take after getting put in your place by a 𝒌𝒊𝒅 . ”

Clearly this was going nowhere. Brick took a deep breath coupled with an extended blink before engaging her again. “ Shouldn’t you be directing traffic or something ? ”

“ I could say the same about you . Though it is you that does the following so that wouldn’t be right now would it ? ” Less sarcasm in his response this time but still lighthearted in nature. No protests as she moves to join him.

Abruptly waking into consciousness Brick reaches for his phone on the nightstand beside him. Low growling ensues upon the realization it’s the middle of the night.

“ Why don’t you 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐮𝐩 if you have something to say ? ”

Her response was almost enough to get a full chuckle out of him, however Brick only smirked. “ You’d like that wouldn’t you ? I’m obviously here because everyone knows Townsville has the best pizza in the tri-state area . ” Sarcasm evident in his tone.

The nerve of her. “ Perhaps maybe 𝒚𝙤𝒖 could do a better job at paying attention to your surroundings . ”

“ Well , well , well . If it isn’t the embodiment of all things righteous and holy . ”

A neutral expression meets her own. “ Buttercup . ” Brick awaited the snide remark that he assumed was festering within the Powerpuff.
