4th Lg defeat on run. Pattern: resolute defending, little creativity, some fight, nothing on target, concede poor goals 44’ 86’. Heading back down. Poor recruitment, too many injuries. Odd lineup. Next goal/point? Brothers twitchy yet? W1 D4 L4. 23rd. Great support! COYP! Avanti!
Today I'm giving thanks on my 20th Anniversary as Rector of S. Paul's, Deptford, (17 Oct 2006, Feast of S. Ignatius of Antioch). Always glorious & challenging but never dull. Thanks to family, friends, comrades & the faithful for support, prayers, & solidarity. Mass today at 10am

Very sad indeed to read the news of the death of Professor Peter Thomas, (History of Political Thought at Brunel University), one of the great Gramsci scholars. Condolences to all his loved ones, comrades and colleagues.
3rd Lg defeat on run. 1H: Woeful. 0-1 poor Belshaw pass out. 2H: better w/ Sanders, Finneran (90+1 consolation) Tsaroulla on. Hard work no end result. Oxford’s 2nd showed their quality. To stay up must win H games & score goals! Bottom 4 by close? P8 W1 D4 L3. 20th. COYP! Avanti!

Today — on the eighth centenary of his death — I wish to recall a laborer who worked with great fruitfulness in the Lord’s vineyard: Saint Francis of Assisi, whom Jesus Himself asked to repair His Church.
Lg1 reality check. Back2back defeats. Copy of last week, 1H ok, 2H poor. Conceded 2 moments of Reading quality, Marriott 49', 72'. Notts worked hard, good openings but no final 3rd quality. Who will create / score the goals? Back to drawing board. P7 W1 D4 L2. 20th. COYP! Avanti!
Notts unbeaten start to season ends. No complaints. Battling 1H played well. 2H Bradford much the better team. Notts created almost nothing, were disjointed, not at it, & slightly hit & hope balls. Who will score the goals to win us games? 13th for now. P6 W1 D4 L1. COYP! Avanti!
A fine backs to the wall point earned at the league leaders & the 2 unbeaten Lg1 teams remain unbeaten. Performance to be proud of! Behind on 12', Belshaw error. Fought back & another Cooper goal 23'. 1-1. Ness MOTM. 2k+ Notts fans. Wheelbarrow song! 12th. P5 W1 D4. COYP! Avanti.
Unbeaten run continues! Well fought, great effort v tough opponent. Notts best team 1H but behind 36' after sliced clearance. 2H v.scrappy but Donny on top. Roberts & Kanu on as subs, almost immediately Roberts crossed for a sharp Cooper finish 64'. 8th. P4 W1 D3. COYP! Avanti.

First win of the season! 1H: Not at our best, no natural striker, 23' 0-1 & HT w/ Burton shading it. 2H: Luka Smyth on. Much better: hunger, desire, tempo constant pressure & eventually fruits: Luka's 1st 78' & 2nd 84' pen goals. Undefeated. P3 W1 D2. For now 6th! COYP! Avanti!
I meant to post this short thread from a few year's back yesterday on the 83rd anniversary of Simone's death. (3 February 1909 – 24 August 1943).
