Java 23 is out, but no one’s talking about the real MVPs! Thanks to @forked_franz for digging up the secondary cache bug that caused scalability issues for so many apps. Then @AndrewHaley13 made github.com/openjdk/jdk/pull/… - Huge improvement for Java devs! #Java23 #OpenJDK
Did you see @foivoszakkak from Red Hat became lead maintainer of @graalvm backports for Java 17 and 21?
This is similar to how Red Hat maintains backports for @OpenJDK Java together with other vendors.
Great to see community collaboration at its best!

Java allows URL’s directly in code.
What other surprising or interesting features do you know in the Java language or a library?
ALT Since java has labels and // are comments in java https: work as a label and thus what look like an URL is valid but is just a label with a comment.
Red Hat is proud to be part of the Java 20 release and its community of contributors.
We are grateful to the many experienced developers who reviewed proposed changes, the early adopters who tried out early access builds and reported issues, and the dedicated professionals who provided feedback on the OpenJDK mailing lists.
