Without AA mid-budget games, thereโs no middle ground for creative experimentation. You either get low-budget indies that canโt scale or risk-averse AAA blockbusters diluted for mass appeal.
The PS2 era had a creative boom specifically because it was mid budget friendly.

Additionally, Just because something "makes sense from a business perspective" doesn't automatically make it good, especially when corporations are designed to suck the money out of you and that's it.
