Our capybara family has expanded! Capybaras Rio and Poppy recently welcomed five new pups. Poppy is a first-time mom and all babies have been observed nursing and are already eating solids. See them in the smaller habitat of the Grasslands exhibit in South America's Pantanal.

Our White-nose Syndrome team is currently in north Texas tagging cave myotis (Myotis velifer) in order to track their movements between caves. The tags are similar to the ones you can put in your pet. Each tag has a unique ID and each time the bat flies through readers that we place around the cave entrances, the ID number, date, and time is recorded. #SavingBatsWithScience 📷Sarah Stankavich
