I wanted to enter the @commonsmade hackathon, and I only remembered about it after the deadline had already passed 😭
Btw, the idea was to make a project where every time AI takes an action, it shows how much that action could potentially add to your future revenue, product value, and what percentile your project ranks in compared to all other projects based on its features.
(this is a super rough idea, just writing down the first thing that came to mind)

Today I finally started reaching out to potential clients after spending so long “preparing” for it.
I think my biggest problem is that I spend way too much time preparing for things instead of actually interacting with the real world and getting real results.
I’d recommend keeping an eye on this in your own life too, because there’s a good chance you’re doing the same thing.
A lot of people underestimate the impact of making your first few dollars from a startup, even if it’s just $3–5

I still haven’t made my first dollar, but I know that once it happens, my life won’t be the same as it was before.

The problem with AI is that it creates an illusion of productivity.
You fire off a prompt and then do nothing but wait for the AI to finish, and somehow your brain starts treating it like you’re the one doing all that work.
I still don’t have a real solution to this other than changing how I think about it and constantly reminding myself to do something while the AI is working.
I think we’ve gotten to the point where we can slow down, even if there wasn’t any risks.
AI has already reached a more than sufficient level and it’s good enough for most tasks.
We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.

Hi Astra users. A reset and a quick update on quality issues that have been posted around.
Working with some of you, we have found and fixed the following issues:
- Some skills written for previous models were triggering too often or preventing the model from checking its work.
- An opt-in context management experiment that could cause early stops or replies to older messages. We've disabled it. Our rough estimate is that 4-5k users were affected by this experiment.
- We've also removed some badly configured engines that resulted in a measured quality degradation for a long tail of traffic flowing through them.
We’ve also made some more minor improvements and things should feel significantly better across the board. More consistent follow-through, better tracking of your latest message, and better checks on the work as it’s going through the motions.
The examples posted and all the users who worked directly with us were incredibly useful in helping fix things quickly. Always grateful for this incredible community.
And of course, a reset is also landing by midnight today.

Why don’t you want to do market research for your startup?
The answer is: fear.
The explanation is: you just don’t want to accept the possibility that nobody might actually need your idea.
So it’s easier to stay in your little bubble and think about how to launch this “amazing” product as quickly as possible, without even knowing who your target customer is.

I got why so many people build 2+ projects at the same time.
They just like the feeling of being busy. Working at that pace makes them feel “productive”.
They can’t just focus on one project and see it through to the end, it doesn’t feel like enough for them.
I’m one of those people, btw.
