Not sure how I ever top spending over an hour mere feet from and in front of #KeanuReeves, after also meeting him.
Thanks to #XboxFanFest back in 2019, I was shocked when Keanu Reeves walked out on stage in front of us watching the Showcase in Los Angeles, and I was also so grateful that the best day of the year allowed me to now also see my favorite actor in real life.
In 2024 shortly after leaving that year's XBOX event, I went to Hollywood and visited his star for the first time. I took a picture of my hand touching it and said I still hope to meet him someday in the caption I posted. I figured it would never happen, but I still hoped for it.
Earlier this year, the day before my birthday, Keanu's band announced a new album and massive tour schedule, with one of the stoos being just a few hours from me. They also changed their VIP process to be more personal and include individual photos and all that, differing from what had been the case since they reformed after a 20 year hiatus three years ago
I still didn't want to get my hopes up these past six months, as they were touring for three months nonstop before my stop, and who knows what can happen, but the day I waited 30+ years for finally actually came this weekend.
A week that started off so challenging with my cat Shadow going to the vet (she is doing just fine now) ended with me walking up and saying Hello Keanu in one of the most surreal moments of my life. No longer was my hand simply touching a sidewalk in Los Angeles, it was shaking Keanu's hand!
I'm so grateful for this band, this tour, and this actually happening! Back in 2019, just before that year's XBOX Showcase where Keanu stole the show, I had started to wonder if someday I could go to a red carpet event and maybe just see him from afar someday.
I'm not usually a big celebrity guy, but it was just this far off bucket list thing of maybe someday for my favorite one since I was a little kid. I knew that he was in a band and that it might happen that way too, but they hadn't toured since 2002 so I wasn't sure about that happening either.
Being at the #XBOX event mere weeks later shockingly made my wish come true and it remains the most shocking moment of my life. To have *the* couple hours of the year I look most forward to then include a surprise appearance by Keanu... It was unreal.
That's also why I chose the shirt I did in the picture with Keanu. I recently had it made and I love it because it perfectly represents that moment when we all realized #KeanuReeves was in highly-anticipated @CyberpunkGame, and about a second later as the lights went off, we also realized he was about to walk out in front of us as a surprise celebrity cameo for the show as well.
I am eternally grateful for @XBOX and @CDPROJEKTRED for making that moment of my life happen seven years ago, and then years later I was in LA again solely for XBOX when I visited Keanu's star, and now tonight I am also so grateful for Dogstar and Keanu touring so that this all could happen and make for such a special evening. I will treasure these memories for the rest of my life!
I've barely slept in several days now, hopefully will a bit more tonight. Shadow continues to be a happy cat despite now battling a liver issue, but I'm confident she will reverse all these (very) out of range test result levels like she did for her kidneys.
She wants to live!
I've had 2 for 2 successful days giving her the new liver fixing pill, and I hope it's hard at work within her. It takes 1-2 weeks to build up and start helping symptoms, but I think it's noticeable already. Then in a couple of months her test results should reflect a change too.
For 18 months now I've been giving her subcutaneous fluids at home 3-4 times a week. She would already be gone without that, her kidneys would've been shot, instead of improving and then holding steady like they have.
A prior vet of mine told me in March 2025 not to expect any better results in test numbers going forward, and eleven months later all of Shadow's high test numbers were halved and mostly normal. She had improved, then improved even more, and then went on to gain back all two pounds she had lost.
For a year now she's also been on a joint supplement and blood pressure medicine, plus a transdermal gel every other day to help with what I assumed was nausea. Any early sign of arthritis disappeared thanks to daily Antinol.
Despite all that though and now nearly being 17, she still plays around like a kitten and runs and jumps around (within reason) and is basically purring half the day and doing her little noises and trilling when getting brushed or excited by whatever else.
If she can fight out of this hole she's in with her liver values, and start feeling better now that this aspect of her health is known and being addressed, I feel like she might end up with a better appetite than she's had since this all started and finally be able to be on a proper diet.
It's possible her liver has been causing her issues despite it never seeming wrong in any of the ten prior blood tests or even the organ ultrasound done in early 2025. So far this week she is finally eating the higher-end foods I've always tried to get her in the habit of eating, so hopefully that part of this new chapter with her continues.
As soon as she seems like she's done, I will of course let her go, but she is completely still herself, and even though she doesn't enjoy the new routine of getting an actual solid pill (something I'd mostly avoided having to do this whole time) she bounces right back and is snuggled with me a few minutes later all happy.

Thank you everyone so much for all the sign-ups using my link. I've never had much luck with any kind of referral thing, but this great new site sells itself so it was easy to share my excitement and have others jump in with me it seems!
Today was a big day for me and my cat Shadow, as she went to the vet after six months since her last tests. She's almost 17 now and until yesterday afternoon had been having a less than great couple of days that had me in such anguish and worry. It wasn't emergency status but it was time for another vet visit to see where we were at.
She's seeming much better now, but just a couple of hours ago she was diagnosed with liver disease. All her liver values were way out of normal range for the first time ever. It's unclear if it's been caught in time and if the new daily medicine that's being added to her regimen of nearly two years can bring all these values back down to normal range, but she is a fighter and appear apparently cat livers can regenerate if managed well.
I'm going to continue doing everything I can to manage what is now her chronic kidney disease, high blood pressure (her medicine for that has now doubled in dose as of today as well) and now also battling quite likely liver disease that is either chronic and/or severe...
Thankfully she is a great partner in helping me help her and I've never had a bond like this with an animal. I've had her since she was just a few weeks old, and now in mid-November she will be 17. I'm so proud of her, and I continue to think of her as a living legend. To still be here, after being born in late 2009.. It's incredible to me, and I want to be greedy and hope that I have years more with her!
So I say all that to again thank you all. This whole morning and afternoon could've been filled with dread and anxiety, but instead I was distracted by the thrill to be not only exploring this new XBOX-focused site, but then all the engagement and sign-ups...it was just a really good and exciting feeling, and made the time pass so fast as Shadow and I awaited the mid-afternoon trip to the vet.
It was just a few minutes before we left that I saw I'd hit 100 referrals and it was really nice to see that as I went into a challenging afternoon that ended up confirming a new chapter of Shadow's life and battle has begun.
Thank you again for all of the good vibes here, and thank you to @XCTdotLIVE for founding such a fun and stylish site dedicated to the ecosystem that we all love. I can't wait to see it somehow get even better as it no doubt grows exponentially from here.
