By extending water pipelines directly into four displacement camps, thousands of Palestinians now have regular access to clean water without having to endure long queues. This is not our first water project, and it certainly won't be our last. As winter approaches, our priority is repairing damaged tents and providing shelter for vulnerable families, particularly those who cannot even reach out to ask for help. 🟥 EIGHT CHILDREN. NOT ONE PAIR OF SHOES. While Mohammed @Manaama2411 from @rebuildgaza24 was out looking for the water pump for our next project, he came across a family with eight children. Not one of them had shoes. He went straight to a shoe shop and bought a pair for every child. Winter is coming, and this is the reality families in Gaza are facing. OCHA reports that 141,000 tarpaulins, 7,540 tents and more than 442,000 pieces of timber needed for Gaza are awaiting clearance. Nearly 37,000 additional pieces of timber and 660 emergency shelter kits have repeatedly been rejected. The @rebuildgaza24 team on the ground are already warning us: materials inside Gaza are scarce, and as winter gets closer, demand and prices will rise. This will be Gaza’s fourth winter like this. With severe restrictions and shortages across Gaza, sourcing fresh produce is no simple task. Our team searches commercial suppliers and wholesalers for what can actually be found and bought. These are patients already fighting cancer while Gaza’s health system is under enormous pressure. For them, good nutrition is not a luxury. 50+ packages will not change Gaza.
