One of the easiest ways to get stuck when learning to code is by spending too much time trying to understand everything before you actually start building. You can spend hours watching tutorials and reading documentation, trying to get every little detail to click. But sometimes, only when you actually start writing code does things begin to make sense. It's like trying to piece together a puzzle without ever putting the pieces together. You might recognise the shapes, but you won't see the full picture until you start connecting them. That's why practice matters. Try things out, make mistakes, break things, and figure out how to fix them. Each attempt helps you connect the dots and understand not just what the code does, but why it works. If you're just getting started, here's a simple plan to help you approach your first week of learning to code. 👇 Want to learn more about learning to code with us at Rebase Code Camp? Remember that one child who couldn't be left alone with anything electronic? 😂 Every family had one. Leave a remote, radio or old phone lying around, and before long, someone would try to figure out what was inside. Sometimes, the mission ended with a few missing pieces and a very angry parent! But underneath all that mischief was curiosity: The desire to know how things worked. You grew older, but maybe those questions never left. You started wondering how the apps and technology you use every day are made, or even imagined building something of your own. At Rebase Code Camp, we believe that curiosity deserves room to grow. That's why we're building a space where you can learn alongside others, ask questions, make mistakes, collaborate, and get guidance from developers working in the industry. If technology has always made you curious, maybe it's time to explore where that curiosity could take you. Contact us on WhatsApp to learn more about starting your journey at Rebase. Now tell us, were you that child, or did you have one in your family? 😂 #RebaseCodeCamp #WebDevelopment #SoftwareEngineering #learntocode

Starting something new can feel overwhelming, especially when you don't know what to expect. With coding, it's easy to think you need to be good at maths, already know a programming language, or have everything figured out before you start. But you don't. Learning takes time, and you get better by showing up, practising, and allowing yourself to learn along the way. At Rebase Code Camp, we believe getting started is an important part of the journey. You don't have to know it all. You have to be willing to learn. Thinking about starting your journey? Visit rebasecodecamp.com to learn more. #RebaseCodeCamp #LearnToCode #CameroonTech #TechEducation

Every beginning comes with a little uncertainty. For our new students, Day 1 was about stepping into a new environment, meeting the people they’ll learn alongside, getting familiar with the space, and taking those first steps into software development. There’s still a lot ahead: lessons, challenges, projects, mistakes, breakthroughs, and plenty of things to figure out along the way. But for now, we’re happy to have them here. Welcome to Rebase. 🧡 #RebaseCodeCamp #DayOne #NewBeginnings #SoftwareDevelopment #CodingJourney #LearnToCode #TechInCameroon #Yaounde #SkillsOverCertificates #FutureDevelopers

🚀 Congratulations to @Lily_Asongfac, a 2023 #TechWomen alumna, on earning a place in the National Space Society's inaugural 30 Under 30 Class of 2026! The recognition celebrates individuals under age 30 contributing to the future of space exploration, development, and settlement. A telecommunications engineer and STEM advocate from Kumba, Cameroon, Lily built an international aerospace career through online training, global networking, and collaboration, showing that talent can reach for the stars from anywhere. Join us in congratulating Lily in the comments! 👇 Meet the class: nss.org/young-professionals/… #30Under30

One of the most annoying moments in development is making a small change and realising you have to make that same change in five different places. You fix it in one file, forget another, and suddenly different parts of your application are behaving differently. ...

Code is a liability, not an asset. We still celebrate the wrong metrics: more features, more commits, massive PRs. But every line we add is something we'll have to understand, test, and debug later. ...

What makes a good developer? It’s not how many certificates you have. It’s what you can do when the answer isn’t in the tutorial. At Rebase, you learn by doing. You build real projects, solve problems, work with others, make mistakes, and figure things out along the way. ...

Their goals may be different, but they all have one thing in common: they’re focused on making progress. If you’re setting a goal this September, try breaking it into smaller weekly checkpoints. Track your progress somewhere visible, and tell someone what you’re working toward.

We often measure progress by the BIG milestones and forget the small wins along the way. Finally understanding a concept. Fixing that stubborn bug. Solving a problem on your own. These moments matter. When you overlook them, it’s easy to feel like you haven’t achieved anything

I built my first server app in Go today: A simple URL shortener I made use of the standard libraries. And learned a ton about HTTP handlers, routing, and safely sharing data across requests with mutexes. All I need is more practice, projects, and exposure to more advanced codebases. I'm doing most of the learning from boot.dev, go articles, google searches, and AI summaries #golang

I just became a member of @bootdotdev. Learning Go has never been this fun. Having everything structured and presented in the right order makes a huge difference. I spend less time wondering what to learn next and more time actually learning. The built-in coding environment and achievement system make the whole experience even more engaging. It's safe to say that this is becoming a little addictive.
