If I could embrace each of you who are facing being more vulnerable with less rights, I would.
These words from my father encourage me to look up and to keep fighting for freedom, democracy, and a world where injustice ceases and love prevails.
Maybe you’ll find them helpful and a source of hope.

I’m hiring for a super cool and super important role @calacademy I’m looking for a leader to work with our team to expand biodiversity community science in California! us242.dayforcehcm.com/Candid…
I just had two of the most incredible and rewarding weeks in my career. First a week at #COP16Colombia learning from the people of Cali & the world & sharing about the work we are doing @calacademy to help @CalNatResources meet @30x30CA goals & celebrate #CityNatureChallenge
Then off to
@SACNAS #NDiSTEM2024 supporting our @NSF #REU students presenting their work at the best, most interesting, most fun, and most inclusive science conference in the world!
And I also squeezed a bit of canvassing for @KamalaHarris with some incredible folks in south Phoenix!

Thought of this quotation as I read the posts by my colleague @McCormickProf about friendship and political differences.
This!
Winds have blown smoke and ash from the #LineFire into my neighborhood. It's scary. I've never seen colors or ash like this.
I am literally BEGGING ABC to hold Trump to account for his climate denialism. Follow up. Don't let him lie.

Trump just claimed that immigrants have the "highest level of criminality". Actually, the opposite is true.
Over on IG the @calacademy is hosting an Underrated California Species contest for #CABiodiversityDay I’m all in for team California Chromodorid. Check out this campaign video put together by Juniper. Get on over there & vote for the sea slug!

My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this.

Leadership of the California Academy of Sciences (CAS) has imposed a 5% cut to the organization’s 600-plus workforce, with a disproportionately greater impact on CAS’s science division. scim.ag/7CK

BIG NEWS: @CAgovernor is delivering on our #climate leg package & setting nature-based solutions targets that are among the 🌎's most comprehensive 🌲🌵
It's the RPS of nature (h/t @WadeCrowfoot) & it's a BFD for enlisting our lands in CA's climate fight
Happy #EarthDay! 🌳💚🌱
California is using millions of acres of land to absorb more carbon and fight the climate crisis.
With 81 new targets, we’re using these nature-based solutions to reach our world-leading climate goals, including reaching carbon neutrality by 2045.

The presence of Snake Fungal Disease in California, and its detection on threatened snake species, made very little news.
I am so grateful when any media platform raises awareness for this serious threat to California's snakes. Thank you, @BayNature!
“Have a wonderful day in the field. Go home. Scrub your boots, leave them in the sun for hours to kill spores. And go out there and responsibly enjoy snakes in the environment.”
Thank you @Anuranton / @BayNature for raising awareness about this issue!
