Perhaps it would have been fruitless, but it shouldn’t be forgotten that Democrats had 15 chances to do something - anything - to build a working coalition. Instead, it appears they fiddled while the speaker’s gavel passed to this guy on January 6.
A pox on both. #unreasonable
A speaker, approved by a bipartisan coalition of moderates, who allows for an open, deliberative process in the House would be a reasonable outcome - an outcome, however, dependent, upon representatives from both parties working for a functioning government. @justinamash
Another reasonable one. Another one not named Rob Portman. Ohio deserves better. @senrobportman

What a refreshingly reasonable analysis by @SenBillCassidy. If only Ohio could boast a principled Republican senator. Right @senrobportman?

Here’s another principled Senator. @senrobportman
Here’s a Senator who respects country and Constitution.
Thanks @senrobportman for allowing us to see the difference?
Voting “no” on the question of whether the Senate has the power to try an impeached former president is just about the most unreasonable thing a sitting U.S. Senator could do.
A complete moral and constitutional abdication by @senrobportman #notbuckeyebold
A lot of good points here. What say you @senrobportman?

Hey, @Jim_Jordan
This is your Coup.
This is your Siege.
This is your Insurrection.
And you will be held accountable.

In a democracy no crime is higher and no misdemeanour more treasonous than conspiring to violently overturn an election. Donald Trump needs to be punished for betraying his oath as head of state and prevented from holding office again econ.st/3iapZCH

Both @HawleyMO and @SenTedCruz have betrayed their oaths of office and abetted a violent insurrection on our democracy.
I am calling for their immediate resignations.
If they do not resign, the Senate must expel them.

Coward. @SenRonJohnson
So, too, are folks like @senrobportman and @boblatta complicit in the violence and storming of the Capitol by Trumpists.
