ALT Dr. Yongting Wang is the Director of Protein Biochemistry and Neuroscience at Elevian, a biotech company based at Harvard Life Lab. Dr. Wang leads Elevian’s protein biochemistry efforts as well as the preclinical neuroscience development program. Dr. Wang holds joint appointments as Professor of Neuroscience in the School of Biomedical Engineering and the Med-X Research Institute at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and then studied protein aggregation diseases as a post-doctoral fellow at MIT. Her research has focused on strategies to promote neurovascular remodeling and functional recovery after ischemic stroke. Her research team has developed gene therapy, stem-cell-combined gene therapy, and optogenetics-based approaches to enhance angiogenesis and neurogenesis in the ischemic brain.
