It is obvious for anyone paying attention and not blinded by their own anger, jealousy, and/or political nihilism that socialism is at best a long-term guarantee for the destruction of a nation.
“In different places over the years I have had to prove that socialism, which to many western thinkers is a sort of kingdom of justice, was in fact full of coercion, of bureaucratic greed and corruption and avarice...”

“The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” — Johann Sebastian Bach

Replying to @RonDeSantis
Imagine if Ford developed a car, then came to Washington saying it was such a death trap that the government should indemnify them against the unimaginable carnage it was about to wreak on the nation's highways.

The wealthy families I know that are doing this are only doing so within the framework of a family culture of working to solve real-world problems, using tech for good, and equipping their kids for the obvious future. They are not turning their kids loose to use it to cheat.
The smartest, most well-resourced parents I know are using AI to teach their kids. Meanwhile, others feel strongly that we need to keep AI out of the hands of public school kids!

Does it strike anyone else as foolish to use AI as the logic for such a question?
Hey @grok , which is more likely to create a human extinction event or series of events in the next 25 years , AI or Climate Change ? Assign a probability to each If the answer to either is yes, do your best to put a timeline for when you think it happens If the answer is no. Explain why

How idiotic is it to think that AI is so dangerous that Americans should sit on the sidelines while the Chinese develop it?

This is the dumbest analogy. In 2007 Netflix just released its streaming service, they averaged 660k hours watched per month that year. Blockbuster averaged 100m hours watched per month from their rentals that year.
Uber has nearly 45M daily trips while Tesla has just 45 registered Cybercabs

While I agree with the concept of fiscal responsibility, what I wish Republicans would understand is that we are so far down the path of economic irresponsibility, there is no other path forward to deal with this issue. Taking an axe to social safety nets isn't going to happen.

And yet the University of Michigan is doing away with letter grades for freshmen because of "mental health".
Stanford tested two ways of giving feedback to students. Group one got standard comments. Group two got the same comments with one added sentence: "I'm giving you these comments because I have very high expectations and I know you can reach them." Group two improved at four times the rate as group one, despite having the same correction. Give your children the gift of high expectations.
