Raised by elves and trained in military strategy and governance, Aencar Burlisk rose to prominence in the Dalelands as a folk hero during the early 11th century DR. After liberating Battledale from a syndicate of corrupt merchants and robber barons, Aencar was elevated to Lord of Battledale. After eight years of strong and competent rule, Lord Burlisk began his campaign to unify the Dales, gaining the moniker of Mantled King—named so for the signature red hood and mask that hid a disfigurement earned in battle with a warlock.

Ah, Jhaamdath. Sunken land of psionicists—mind bending wielders of the invisible art. I've always been fascinated by that most inscrutable lost empire of Faerûn.
