Permit me a personal moment for my son, Seyi. I have watched what you started with City Boy, and over the last few weeks, I received calls from people asking me, “What exactly is Seyi running for?” My answer was simple: he is running after his father. President Tinubu thanked Seyi Tinubu for his support and for mobilising his young colleagues to support his re-election.

Stop Sending Money Home to Loved Ones Until Tinubu Is Voted Out — Peter Obi Tells Nigerians in the UK The 2027 presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians living in the United Kingdom to challenge relatives seeking financial assistance from them and support efforts to change the country’s leadership. Obi made the appeal during a town hall meeting with supporters in the UK on Sunday as he seeks to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election. Addressing the gathering, the former Anambra State governor encouraged Nigerians in the diaspora to convince their relatives to prioritise political change rather than continually requesting money from abroad. “I need you people and that is why I’m having lunch with you today. This lunch is for you to say, this man came and what he said is the reality of our problem. Let’s work with him,” he said. He added, “You have people at home who are begging you for money. Tell them no. Let’s put somebody who has proven, I said I’m not a saint, but at least I have said something.” Obi also challenged other former governors to demonstrate that they had saved a significant portion of public funds during their time in office, arguing that his record offered a basis for comparison. “So, let’s start with this one who is maybe less corrupt. We are not saying it is all, but let’s not pretend it is not happening,” he said. The former governor maintained that Nigeria could make progress if citizens rejected corruption and the alleged diversion of public funds, which he linked to the country’s poor public infrastructure. “That is how the countries change. Countries change by people saying, hey, wait a minute, enough of this,” Obi said, adding that money allegedly diverted by public officials could otherwise have funded schools and hospitals. He further recalled a time when, according to him, public services were better managed and contrasted it with reports of officials allegedly accumulating properties and missing public funds.

Peter Obi went to the UK to urge UK-based Nigerians not to render financial assistance to their loved ones, so they can vote him in. This is someone who is marketed as a selfless leader; Imagine if the likes of Atiku, Sowore, Tinubu, or even any opposition member uttered such disappointing statement. Same Obi a few days ago came to complain about the hunger and in this country, and now, he doesn't care who gets affected as long as it benefits his political ambition. This was the same thing he did in 2022/23 when Nigerians were suffering due to the naira redesign policy, he came to defend CBN's decision and backed the corrupt Emefiele because he thought it will affect the opposition. "You have people at home who are begging you for money. Tell them no". Just imagine that statement, same person will happily collect campaign donations.

Nigerian professionals in the diaspora (Canada 🇨🇦, Germany 🇩🇪, UAE 🇦🇪, UK 🇬🇧, USA 🇺🇸, South Africa 🇿🇦, etc) left Nigeria 🇳🇬 to pursue opportunities abroad, but our hearts never left home. Today, we see a nation making difficult but necessary choices to secure a better future. As proud Nigerians in the diaspora, we stand with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT) and support his re-election bid. Nigeria must keep moving forward. PS: Irrespective of Peter Obi’s advice, we will keep sending money to our family and friends in Nigeria because we care. #DiasporaForTinubu 💙

After obviously emptying plenty bottles of Guinness Stout into his stomach, Peter Obi told about 20 people he met in a UK Beer Parlour that; “People in Diaspora should stop sending money to people at home until they vote out President Bola Tinubu." "No matter their condition, tell them NO,” Peter Obi said

Imagine wetin this man dey tell people in the diaspora: “Please stop sending money to your people at home until they vote out President Bola Tinubu. No matter their condition, tell them no.” So while Nigerians at home are struggling, the message is allegedly to stop supporting your own family financially just to achieve a political objective? Politics aside, how does punishing ordinary Nigerians and their families become a solution?

Whether you support him or not, one fact is hard to dispute: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has taken difficult decisions that previous administrations avoided. Since taking office in 2023, he has removed the fuel subsidy, unified the exchange rate, introduced student loans, advanced tax reforms, raised the minimum wage, expanded access to credit, promoted the use of compressed natural gas (CNG), and strengthened fiscal discipline. These moves have been painful, and the sacrifices have been real. Yet many Nigerians accept that lasting progress demands courage rather than convenience. Great nations are built on bold leadership. President Tinubu has shown that quality of leadership — which is why he will be re-elected in January 2027. #ReElectPresidentTinubu
