I agree Church history and Scripture must be connected in understanding the Church and how as humans we have complicated the whole matter, as we do everything, because we human and sinful. The denominations of the Church should snipe at each other. We all need to pull together.
To know the Bible is to cease to be a Roman Catholic. Church History means nothing if it cannot be backed with the scriptures, it’s just more error Paul would have corrected. We can see in Paul’s letters which are also church history he was correcting the church for their errors and they were not even removed from apostolic presence. The bereans searched the scriptures they had available to be sure what they were being told by Paul was true, and they were called noble for it. Sola scriptura.
Protestants and Roman Catholics need to stop sniping at each other. Is it too much to ask for peace and unity in the Church? There are bigger problems in the world for us to contend with than constantly battling each other theologically. We must agree to disagree. WWJD?
Indeed!
These rules would shut down Christian Twitter, but I’m in.

I am not a major Christian apologist, yet I agree and support this Apologist's Creed.
Hey friends. I'm back online but I'm probably going to stop posting on Twitter except for answering DMs and occasional updates which will be posted by my team (Mrs. Zoomer). Twitter hasn't been good for my sanctification. While I was gone, my pastor and I worked on an "Apologist's Creed" to improve online Christian discourse, which is attached here, which includes guidelines for Christian behavior in apologetics. DM me if you are a major apologist and want your name attached to it. P.S. We have a Redeemed Junior on the way! docs.google.com/document/d/1…

The purpose of studying literature is not to learn which books contain problematic ideas but to encounter minds greater than your own and to discover dimensions of human existence you never knew existed.

I finally saw this movie for the first time last night. I know now why this bumper sticker exists. Charming, earnest, a little corny, but always sincere homage to adventure serials and monster pics. It's a shame the people working in Hollywood think they're too smart and too socially aware for this. "The Mummy" (1999)

I agree with this take.
No, Ukraine is not an ally, but Russia is an adversary, and in a world of geopolitical proxy wars, our support of Ukraine has absolutely damaged Russia and made it rethink its short term foreign military and expansionist policies. They are also down some 2 million conscripts since the engagement’s beginning, counting battlefield deaths, wounded casualties, and desertions. The equipment and assistance we have supplied to Ukraine thus far is about 0.2-0.3% of our cumulative federal spending over the period since the conflict. It also has not been more than 1% of our federal annual budget if you break it down yearly. I was once petty against our involvement, financial or otherwise, with the conflict, but I have revisited it and evolved my thought process. From a strategic level warfare perspective, it absolutely makes sense. No US troop involvement. We learn valuable information from Ukrainian military and intelligence services about Russian TTPs. We get to test our own drone and counter drone capabilities in one of the most drone heavy battlefields on earth. And Russia is caught in a stalemate war of attrition that is costing them dearly in both assets and lives. Lots of wins and it doesn’t actually cost us very much. About 20 times as much is going to unemployed Americans that eat and live for free each year.

I preface that I am not a Harry Potter fan. Never read the books. Seen the movies and they were entertaining and enjoyed the casting of the characters. The Malfoid discourse and fan stories/art is interesting. This is the best summary of Malfoid and what it does for the story.
You can see this same problem in the Malfoid discourse where Hary’s main rival Draco Malfoy is replaced by a female rival who eventually becomes Harry’s final romantic interest (Dracia Malfoy). The reason why “Malfoid” works so well is that it patches a major flaw Rowling built into her plot with Draco and House Slytherin. Ultimately, Rowling could never decide what to “do” with the Slytherin. This group is the designated rivals of Harry, and Rowling knows that she doesn’t like them and what they represent which makes their competitions with Harry “mean” something. However, Rowling doesn’t know what to do with this group after the giant battle between good and evil. Are the Slytherin evil doers? Or are they misguided rivals? The author isn’t comfortable with either option. It would feel cruel for Malfoy just to be “evil” and have Harry kill him. Still, Rowling disapproves of Malfoy’s ideas so strongly she can’t give the character a redemption so that he becomes a full ally and friend. Instead Rowling just has Malfoy slither away, and then return later as an obviously defeated and castrated version of himself with no pride or fire. Of course this is terribly unsatisfying. Malfoy and the Slytherin have no clear remaining purpose, they are robbed of their core vitality. Their new role in the post Voldemort world is to be default losers so that the other “good” houses can feel better about themselves, which again is just more effeminate humiliation. There is no way, in the new world, that Slytherin could win and not totally subvert the reigning political order. But this breaks their purpose because, to work, Slytherin and Malfoy need to be honorable rivals, but the author doesn’t know how to write that because she doesn’t understand honorable male rivalry. This is why replacing Draco Malfoy with Dracia Malfoid fixes almost everything. The marriage of Harry to the Scion of Slytherin resolves conflict through the magic of sex, where the secondary party submits to the primary winner but in the process becomes an equal stakeholder in the future. There is no shame now in being Slytherin as their virtues of loyalty and purity are brought to the political table just as “Malfoid” brings them to the wedding bed. They maintain their fiery pride in defeat just as Malfoid maintains her spirit as a wife. Yes, in this generation Gryfindor is leading the dance. But nothing is stopping the next turn from going in Slytherins direction, they are equals in their opposition just as Harry’s children would equally share their mother’s heritage. Again the irony here is that Rowling, like most women, can only understand honorable submission and defeat in the context of sex (this is why women read male rivalry as an extension of homosexuality eg “Heated Rivalry”) so she can’t write male Malfoy with a satisfying ending. Fixing male Malfoy would require a totally character re-write whereas replacing him with a woman just requires some tweaks to make the story perfect.

Great news if true. Cannot wait to see what more the investigation brings to light.

If you’re a conservative Christian, you should pay attention to the new face of the religious left. This isn’t just about politics. It’s about who gets to speak for Christianity, how Scripture is used in the public square, and whether the faith you hold dear is being reshaped to serve a political agenda. I take a closer look at what’s happening and why it matters.

A novelist should be a philosopher, not a newspaper reporter. The great novelists tried to explain the human condition. Contemporary novelists seem content merely to describe it.

I honestly do not understand how any American who is not already a literal Communist or a literal Jihadist could vote Democrat after hearing what Slotkin said below. This is LITERALLY totalitarianism. It's not the fake "fascism" the Left likes to accuse the Right of, it is the REAL THING. Undeniably. Irrefutably. This is a sitting member of Congress who was in the CIA saying that dissent from what she believes will result in imprisonment. This is straight out of Solzhenitsyn. Straight out of Orwell. This is something an early Nazi would have said in 1932 under the Weimar Republic. Please please PLEASE share her words with everyone you know. The Democrat/Media Complex will try to bury this. It is up to us on social media, on blogs and via texts and emails to get the word out. The only way to stop these monsters is to make sure that voters who don't really keep up on politics understand the actual threat, see it with their own eyes and hear it with their own ears. Please. Spread the word to anyone who will listen. And even those who won't listen.
ON UCHICAGO CAMPUS: U.S. Senator from Michigan Elissa Slotkin hopes planned political prosecutions of republican leaders will scare young conservatives from getting involved in politics. @ElissaSlotkin
