This whole initiative is totally farcical. In the past, such initiatives relied on import substitution of components which is highly unlikely here. More so, it comes at a much bigger loss to exchequer.
This is the reality of overhyped iPhones assembled in India. iPhone Exports: Rs 99,128 crore. Foreign exchange outgo to assemble these iPhones: Rs 1,29,641 crore. Loss making, and perhaps surviving on state subsidy.

For 18 months, I've traveled this state and looked you in the eye. Darline Graham has looked down at a script, written by Washington insiders trying to buy this seat. Ok, one last time: I'm Dr. Annie Andrews and I approve this message.

One by one, they will all fall. Power has limits.
BELGRADE, Serbia (AP) — Serbia’s strongman leader Aleksandar Vucic has conceded defeat to a student-led movement in a seismic political shift.

North Carolina deserves justices who are dedicated to upholding the law. That's why I'm proud to support Justice Anita Earls in her campaign for reelection. Thank you to everyone who came out yesterday to knock on doors in support of Anita and Democrats up and down the ballot.

🇮🇳 The Nobel Peace Prize wasn’t awarded in 1948 because the committee wanted to give it to Mahatma Gandhi — but he had been assassinated earlier that year. On the grounds that “there was no suitable living candidate”.

We spend an enormous amount of time talking about the very worst of us, so let's remember some of the best. This is Dr Karmele Llano Sanchez, a Spanish veterinarian rescuing orangutans from the wildfires in West Kalimantan. No AC or mod cons for wildlife rescuers and veterinarians working in the most challenging conditions in the field, often facing real danger with great courage. Eight orangutans have recently been treated and released, but the suffering witnessed has taken its toll on her team. Most people don't even know her name—she couldn't care less about that—but I do. People like her are true heroes, and we should know who they are.

Navi Pillay is a South African, Harvard-educated lawyer and human rights activist who joined the case against apartheid in 1967. She was the first non-white woman to open her own practice there. She ran a shelter for abused women, and founded Equality Now. They arrested and tortured her husband in retaliation for her work. In 1995, Mandela nominated her to the UN security council judgeship, where she oversaw the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. She decided the case that made rape a war crime, stating "From time immemorial, rape has been regarded as spoils of war. Now it will be considered a war crime. We want to send out a strong signal that rape is no longer a trophy of war." She also served on the case against Ferdinand Nahimana, which charged media organizations for their role in "spreading hate propaganda that amounted to public incitement to commit genocide." She's worked on issues of genocide for more than 30 years, and was appointed UN High Commissioner for Human Rights in 2008. She's currently a judge on the Rohingya genocide case (Gambia v. Myanmar). She has single-handedly shaped international law. It'd be difficult to find someone more worthy.

Schmitt on Jack Smith: People can decide if that's the truth or not. I supposed the DOJ can ask him where he really was that night. Charlie: The Hawkeye game. Schmitt: That's what he says. Charlie: Oh no, no, no. We can see in the audience he's in that section. I've seen him in the section that night. Schmitt: For that night? Great...
Replying to @Eric_Schmitt
@Eric_Schmitt : isn’t embarrassed coz he didn’t make a mistake
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Schmitt claimed he made no mistake as he asked if Smith was in Atlanta for a Hawks game and Smith said no. The texts referred to an Iowa Hawkeyes womens basketball game that Smith attended in Maryland not Atlanta. tmz.com/2026/09/29/eri… missouriindependent.com/2026/09/29/eri…

Well meaning people of Pune, I have a request. Please stop calling Ganpati Mandal officials as "activists". Make no mistake, Vidyanand Bapat is an activist taking on established power centres embodied by the Mandals.

What about the $45 trillion+ the British took from India? Before the British started colonizing folks, its economy made up a measly <0.2% of global GDP. India and China, in contrast — pre-colonization — each controlled 25% of global GDP. That’s why the British looted in the first place. They barely had anything of their own! thejuggernaut.com/british-ra…
The British Empire did so much good for the world. Of course slavery was abhorrent but to expect the British people of the 21st century to pay for actions that took place in the 18th century has no basis in law. If the government is seriously thinking about this then former colonies should pay the British back for the considerable investment, effort and contribution that this country made which laid the foundations for many flourishing democracies today.

From high above the road this is what the Drive for Change looks like. Miles keep adding up as I roll toward the Wisconsin State Capitol, reminding everyone that people with disabilities belong in our communities, not pushed aside by budget cuts or weakened rights. The view from up here shows the journey, but the real story is on the ground: fighting for home care, fair caregiver wages, and against the $900 billion Medicaid cuts. This is persistence in motion. #DriveForChange #DisabilityRights #AerialView #KeepRolling
