Okay Nintendo fans, here's a MASSIVE revelation about Smash 64:
We reached out to Mario's agents today, and they confirmed that Mario's favourite colleague to work with is...
Jigglypuff! WOW!
Our top reporters here at RNF have the scoop - here's what Mario said about our favourite balloon Pokemon:
"I still remember when Puff's cheeky face peeked round the corner of the audition room door. She was riding high off the success of Pokemon, yet she was so humble and graceful - you don't get a lot of that in this industry filled with ego and arrogance."
"She was a joy to work with. Her 'Rest' attack was innovative and awe inspiring - so much so that my brother Luigi copied it with his own cheap version (Fire Jump Punch)."
Our biggest reveal so far! HYPE!

HERACROSS’ ORIGINS:
Before hitting the big time as a powerhouse Bug type Pokemon, Heracross was first cast in the role of a basic enemy character in Super Mario Land 2! But Nintendo were not impressed with his performance as the ‘Battle Beetle’ and decided not recast him in any later Mario games.
He was demoted to a behind-the-scenes role of ‘coffee bug’, fetching coffee for the up-and-coming stars of a new project, ‘Pokemon’. But he remained humble and hard-working - many of the Gen 1 Pokemon cast took a liking to him due to his friendly and positive demeanour.
He would become close friends with Electrode, who put in a good word in for him with the executives.
After landing an audition for the role of a new Bug type Pokemon in Pokemon Gold and Silver, Heracross was successful, and completely destroyed the public notion of Bug type Pokemon being ‘weak’ and ‘lame’, boasting a 125 base attack stat! Wow!
The success would continue - Heracross landed another starring role as one of Ash’s Pokemon in the anime!
To this day, he remains one of the most popular Bug type Pokemon of all time.
Never give up your dreams, folks!
Okay Nintendo fans, try this one on for size!
Did you know that Ness almost didn’t appear in Super Smash Bros.?!?
It’s true! Our independent sources have verified this information today:
Ness was reportedly disillusioned during the troubled development of Earthbound 64. His miserable demeanour took its toll on the rest of the cast, and he was eventually dismissed from his role. His career at Nintendo was over. Or was it?
His close friend Gohma convinced him to audition for a supporting role in the upcoming new title ‘Super Smash Bros.’
In a stroke of luck, the executives decided to take on Ness as a part of the MAIN cast, as the sole representative of the ‘Mother’ series - this would launch Ness to worldwide superstardom!
However, this also unfortunately sidelined F-Zero representative Samurai Goroh, who was originally set to appear in Smash as a clone of Captain Falcon.
Samurai Goroh holds a bitter grudge against Ness to this day.
It’s common knowledge that Luigi was completely absent from Super Mario 64.
But did you know that Luigi was also absent from Super Mario World?!?
It’s true! After some long and diligent research, we can confirm that Luigi was NOT recast for Super Mario World!
If you look REALLY closely, you will find that the ‘Luigi’ that appears in Super Mario World is, in fact, Mario!
Whenever a Luigi scene was required, Mario would simply change into Luigi’s clothes as a clever disguise! How cunning!
The truth is that Luigi wanted to take time away from Super Mario games to work on his solo project, which would eventually become the infamous ‘Mario is Missing’.
After the failure of ‘Mario Is Missing’, Luigi was hastily crammed into the All-Stars re-release of Super Mario World in 1994.
