Chinese games are quickly taking over Steam, massively:
.10% to 20% of new releases on Steam are Chinese (last 24 months. Estimates)
.~35% of Steam users are Chinese (or use Chinese as default language)
Less than 4% of releases were Chinese in 2020! The growth has been massive, and continues to be.
Most Chinese games released on Steam are not Black Myth Wukong clones or anime gacha titles, like many people tend to assume.
Most are indie games from a wide variety of genres that hardly anyone talks about outside their own communities.
💡Steam is the great passageway both for Chinese games to find a global audience, and for international games to meet Chinese gamers.
The video is from "Nether Abyss". A demo is now available on Steam.

O Phantom World, universo do jogo, adota esse conceito clássico.
Xiake é o cavaleiro andante do genérico Wuxia/protagonista.
Indicações pra você mergulhar nesse universo antes do lançamento:
• Filme: The Blade de Tsui Hark
• Livro: Meteor, Butterfly, Sword de Gu Long
• Anime: Blades of the Guardians

It's been nearly a month since the first reveal, and we've collected ten questions from the comments that everyone wants to know about. Let's talk about them.
Q: What kind of game is Nodusfall?
A: Simply put, it's a mythology-themed action game centered around multiplayer co-op. Our vision was to build on a foundation of high-quality action combat, layer in the experience of playing online with friends, and craft a fantasy world with a distinct identity through diverse mythological themes.
Q: Can it be played solo? How many players can team up in multiplayer?
A: We don't require players to team up. Solo players can experience the vast majority of the core content. As for multiplayer, the greatest fun lies in coordinating roles within your team, and you can even trigger the cooperative multi-player "Divine Drain" mechanic together. Regarding the maximum number of players per team and the detailed rules, we're still fine-tuning things and will share more with everyone later.
Q: Which platforms are currently confirmed to be supported?
A: What we can confirm at this time is that the PC platform will definitely be supported at launch. As for other platforms that everyone is curious about, announcements will be made through official channels at a later date.
Q: Besides boss fights, what other gameplay does the game offer?
A: Nodusfall is more than just "fighting bosses." Beyond multiplayer co-op and intense, action-packed combat, players also step into a mythological world to experience the story, naturally make a friend or two, and gradually immerse themselves in this mythical tale. Play a duet with a friend, soak in the hot springs. There's always a rhythm and a place that's just right for you even beyond combat.
Q: What combat skills and mechanics are available in the game?
A: Beyond each character's basic attacks and skills, combat also features an important system called "Divine Skills." Think of it as a freely customizable mechanic: Different Divine Skills offer a wide variety of effects, including offense, defense, and support. You can mix and match them based on your preferred playstyle or team composition. In the same Boss fight, different skill combinations can lead to completely different solutions.
Q: Will the game be very difficult?
A: We don't want difficulty to be a barrier for players entering Nodusfall. The game is designed to be accessible even for players who are new to this type of action gameplay, while still maintaining a high ceiling in terms of controls, coordination, and builds, giving players who love a challenge plenty of room to dive deeper.
Q: How do you obtain characters? Is there a gacha system?
A: Rest assured, characters in Nodusfall will not be obtained through gacha pulls. Players can unlock all characters by continuing to play the game. The team is still carefully planning further details regarding monetization.
Q: What role does the player take on in the game? What is a "Weaver"?
A: Players will step into a world where divine authority has crumbled and order has collapsed, taking on the role of the "Weaver." The Weaver once traversed the heavens and earth as a messenger entrusted with a sacred mission, yet lost the power bestowed upon them for certain reasons and fell into the mortal world. Through continued exploration of a mythological world, facing trials of perilous predicaments and powerful divine adversaries, the Weaver grows alongside their companions, ultimately rediscovering and reshaping themselves to establish a new world order.
Q: Why does the game's worldview incorporate mythologies from different regions?
A: In our world, blending different mythologies isn't simply about making "different worlds collide." What we truly wanted to create was a world where:
When different civilizations' understandings of the world clash with one another, their differences give rise to conflict—while the things they share in common become the very foundation that connects them.
What players encounter, then, is not merely a collection of mythological stories from different cultures, but a shared narrative that spans civilizations—one that asks why the world exists, and how humanity should face its fate.
We use the "differences" of mythology to build a richly layered world, and the "commonalities" of human emotion to bring these myths together into a single, unified world.
This is why we chose to weave together different mythological traditions.
Q: What is the relationship between the gods, bosses, and "Weavers" in the game? Why do we fight them?
A: The primordial essence of creation shaped the Weavers, yet granted them no divine guidance. The gods and living beings that remained in the world were corrupted by the Mal, twisted into calamities and forming Dreadnodi. Faced with these once-great existences, the Weavers must sever the entangled Dreadnodi, halt the world's march toward destruction, and restore the order that once was.

Michael Yum of PM Studios thinks Chinese developers will have a huge impact on the games industry. "They're making games way faster than everyone else, way cheaper than everyone else. So if the rest of the world doesn't keep up with them, they're going to take over." bit.ly/4yTTD5i

Phantom Blade Zero x GCORES Industries official clothing line collaboration.
The collection will debut at Core Fusion Beijing, with sales starting on Oct 29 - game's launch date.
GCORES will also have a Phantom Blade Zero exhibition at the event.
💡Note:
A lot of Chinese brands have announced branding collaborations with Phantom Blade Zero. I think this signals confidence from the Chinese market at least towards the game.
Also, it shows how S-Game are willing and proactively developing their IP beyond the game itself, and expanding it as a broader brand.
This last effort is something we've been seeing as a general trend from many Chinese devs/publishers in recent years. Capitalizing on, and expanding IPs beyond their core audience, and beyond the main product itself, the game.
This of course is not conceptually new. It's marketing. Licensing marketing.
However the difference here is the scale and speed at which these operations are executed in the Chinese market, specifically.
Scale, speed and reach targeting its huge middle and upper class population (~450-600 Million people).
More important than recognizing the huge population China (1.4B), is to understand that the country has a lot of cities with more than 10 million people, and even more with populations between 5 to 10 million. These urban agglomerations effectively function as their own "small big markets", with matured and highly developed distribution services and quasi-independent operations.
This is the market potential that's being tapped in China: virtually every consumer with enough disposable income is living withing these cities, these urban areas. There's very little "spread of riches" in China outside major cities. Especially if compared with many other major markets around the world, IMO.
