Loved this response from @UAB_FB DB Jo’Tavion Pierce in Thursday’s postgame presser. This is Birmingham’s Team and it’s time for the community to recognize that. There is nothing but appreciation shown from the team to the community and it’s time for the community to reciprocate.
Honorable Mention POTW 🔥: Joe P!

Samford HC John Grass wants UAB–Samford to become an annual Birmingham rivalry:
“We need to call it something fancy like ‘Battle of the Vulcan’ or something.”
“I think it’s a game that needs to continue…UAB can become a city rivalry game.”

UAB’s defense has held opponents to 21 points or fewer in 3 of 4 games this season.
For perspective: UAB did that just 3 times TOTAL over the previous three seasons — NC A&T (6) in 2023, Alcorn State (3) and Rice (14) in 2024.
That’s real progress. 🐲

Alex Mortensen has now coached 10 games at UAB — six as interim HC last season and four this year.
When you actually look at what’s happened during those 10 games, he’s already checked off some pretty significant boxes. ⬇️

Proud to represent UAB and honored to be mentioned by @247Sports. A lot of work has gone into what we’re building in Birmingham, and there’s a lot more ahead 🐉 #WinAsOne

Mark Ingram is out at UAB.
The real question isn't who replaces him. It's what UAB's administration actually wants in an AD. @TheTimStephens on what happens next.

True freshmen Hudson Higgins (Mars Hill) and JR Mosley (Hoover) have played their way into the RB mix at UAB. Both in-state products played well in spring practice and continued that into fall camp. Wouldn't be a shock to see them have a role in the offense and/or special teams.
