I just found myself on Google Maps from almost 15 years ago waiting for the bus after school in 2013
Here's me at 15 years old, waiting to go home to play Battlefield 3 and DayZ Mod
I’m so glad I got my reaction to finding myself in real time
29 today! 🥳
It's the first day of the last year in my 20's.
My birthday resolution is to create more content across the different genres I’m passionate about, adopt a healthier mindset, let go of the past, and build a new future and community I can look back on with pride.
Here's to the glizzy man becoming more and more unc every day 🌭
I’m not going to pretend I know everything about IEMs. Everything here is based on what I personally know, use and my own experience.
A few people have recently asked what headphones I use so I figured I’d make a post for anyone else who’s curious about IEMs or thinking about making the switch from headsets.
Why did I switch?
- My headset was genuinely starting to hurt my head, especially after sitting at my PC for hours
- I was sick of the headset dent
- It was messing with my hairline and I was starting to look like berries and cream 💀
- I was doing the whole xQc headset hair holding trick
- I wanted to try something different
- And honestly, I’m a hotdog and my girlfriend is a Kiwi. The fact that these are literally called KiwiEars was too perfect. We both have little things in our lives that subtly represent each other, so that was a bonus for me.
What do I use?
I use IEMs (in ear monitors), specifically the Linsoul KiwiEars KE4.
The KE4s are a premium audiophile level IEM that I’ve found to be a great all rounder for gaming, music, movies, editing and pretty much everything else.
If you’re looking for something that can replace a premium headset or you’re looking to dip your toes into the IEM world for the first time these are a great starting point.
Comfort
This was one of my biggest concerns when switching.
I have pretty sensitive ears but I can comfortably wear these for hours without them becoming painful or uncomfortable. I also haven’t experienced any noticeable audio fatigue from the IEMs themselves.
If I do get audio fatigue, it’s usually because I’ve had whatever I’m listening to turned up way too loud. (Please look after your ears)
Eartips
You can also use aftermarket eartips with the KE4s provided they’re compatible with the nozzle diameter.
I actually bought a set of aftermarket tips myself because I wanted to see if I preferred them over the ones included with the KE4s. In the end I actually preferred the stock tips that came with them.
So if you don’t like the included tips, there are plenty of aftermarket options worth trying.
One thing I wish I knew before switching
I have a GoXLR myself so If you’re using something like a mixer, GoXLR, or another device with a high powered headphone output, you may need an impedance adapter.
This was probably the biggest thing I learned when getting into IEMs.
IEMs generally have much lower impedance than traditional headphones so plugging them directly into a high output device can result in them being insanely loud with very little volume adjustment.
A suitable impedance adapter can help bring that output down to a more manageable level.
The one I personally have will be linked in the replies.
Final thoughts
These have genuinely been one of the best changes I’ve made to my PC setup.
The KE4s aren’t some magical pair of IEMs that will completely transform your life but in my experience they’re an excellent all rounder if you just want something that sounds good, is comfortable and can replace a premium headset.
You’re paying a premium for them but I’d say you get a premium experience in return.
If you have any questions, I’ll do my best to answer them based on my own experience and what I know. I figured this might be useful for anyone who’s interested in making the switch since a few people have been asking me recently.
This is also not sponsored or affiliated post, I genuinely just wanted to make this.
All links to everything I use are in the replies below.

I went with the iEMatch+ for its build quality, but also because it gives you on the fly sensitivity adjustment switch.
It has two settings:
- High Sensitivity: -12 dB
- Ultra Sensitivity: -24 dB
This makes it really easy to tame the output if your IEMs are getting way too loud from a 'high powered source' such as a game booting really loud that you can't skip for whatever reason they do that for
I’m so fucking tired of everything. Maybe this is a cry for help, maybe it isn’t but I’m just fucking sick of everything. Heres some random venting
We’re all so divided now. Social media, gaming, entertainment, everything just feels like shit. Everything is engagement bait or ragebait, zero substance. Everyone’s so sensitive and dishonest, everything has to be political, and it feels like you can’t speak your mind or enjoy anything anymore without people fighting over it or criticizing you
Quitting content on my personal channels when I did was one of the worst decisions I’ve ever fucking made and I regret it so much. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time. I had my reasons but looking back now, I can’t help but feel like I threw away something that actually meant a lot to me and it fucking haunts me every day
My dad became a millionaire a few years ago, bragged about it to me and my family. Treated my mum like shit and told me if i ever needed anything he'd be there for me. The moment I reached out he abandoned me, put me through a bunch of bullshit that I never speak about or have spoken about and fucked off to his own new family who are now benefiting from his wealth. I don't have any connection with him anymore. Thanks dad!
I’m so tired of not speaking my mind because I’m afraid of criticism, what someone might think or who will distance themselves from me for speaking my mind. I used to just say what I thought and not give a fuck and now I second guess everything and feel like a burden because of judgement, criticism and a few bad eggs in my past.
This probably won’t make much sense without context but I just need somewhere to get this out. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
Don’t feel like you have to reach out because it’s not what I want. I just needed a place to get this out. I'm constantly mentally fatigued and feel like I always have this friction within myself or in my personal life. I use to be the 'happiest' lil glizzy.

I want to preface that I know I come and go a lot. There are a lot of complexities behind that over the last five years with personal life and health struggles. I have tried recording and uploading countless videos explaining things, but every time I either felt stupid talking about it, felt like I would be criticized by friends or viewers, or I could not articulate myself properly because it is hard to summarize everything I have been dealing with both internally and my personal life.
I genuinely try my best and I really do love making content. It is still something I want to do even if it ends up only being at a hobby level. To be blunt, the content I have been making is complete trash and I know that. I've mainly been exploring and experimenting, trying different things.
I have become angry at the world in some ways and have isolated myself from a lot of people because of my own issues, and that has definitely shown on my streams with raging and poor attitude towards things. I want to fix that, be better and be proud of myself and the things I create again.
I want to make good quality and watchable content. I went through a period, and I am still figuring it out, where I had no idea what I wanted to upload or create, and then I did not know how to execute any of it properly. That is why I have been all over the place with content or unable to stay consistent. It is not the only reason but it is one of many. And again, I know my content has been completely lacking in quality and vision as I mentioned earlier as "trash".
I have realised that I am an all rounder now, a variety type of person, which I never used to be with games. I always stuck to one game, but these days I struggle to stay committed to only one. Making multiple channels will help me not feel guilty about moving between games without uploading anything because it does not fit my main channel, which used to be Fortnite content and will go back to Fortnite content. Now I can keep Fortnite on that channel and not feel like I am making a huge content switch every time.
I am going to upload different games on different channels, because otherwise I end up never uploading anything, not executing ideas, and confusing viewers. Splitting things up gives me freedom to play what I enjoy and make content I am happy with instead of forcing myself to play something that I don't want to play for the sake of consistency.
Hopefully this explains some of the things I have been wanting to get off my chest about my channel, identity and content. I have struggled to talk about any of this because of shame, which I mentioned earlier. I feel like I have let a lot of people down including viewers and friends who I miss and no longer talk to much these days unfortunately, which has crushed me. It made me believe that people are sick of me being unreliable, which I understand so I decided to stop reaching out and bother friends in fear they thought I was using them or that I was not good enough anymore. It has been a very vicious cycle and to my friends I am genuinely sorry for that.
Maybe no one cares anymore and that's okay. At least I have finally done this for myself and actually said something instead of recording explanation videos that I never upload. I just wanted people to understand things to some degree.
Thank you for reading and go subscribe if you're still interested in me and my content 🌭
Not to make it about myself but people come into my chat just to say I “fell off” or something mean because I’m not on 300+ viewers anymore. I’m just trying to find myself again and make content I actually enjoy.
For the last 5 years I have felt so lost with myself which is partly why I went MIA in the first place and now I’m just trying to find my footing with content I want to make and foster a new community.
If you don’t have something nice to say, maybe just don’t say anything but that being said it is the internet and people will always have an opinion even if unreasonable.
I’ve stopped speaking my mind because of past criticisms and fear of criticism but if there is one thing I’ve learnt is someone will always have something to say irrespective of what you got going on so you might as well do you anyways.
