Working in fintech is kinda interesting right now, there’s teams that still think AI is a fad and I’m there using @poteto ‘s pstack + my own verification skills to move extremely fast and provide value to the business , got a 11000 line change feature branch merged recently on a new product ..Beacuase it WORKS and makes money !! My goal is to literally be at a point where my job is the least stressful thing for me preferably using @bot aswell

Ey brother , I’m just happy that it works .
Software engineers: Do you know why JWTs start with ey?

Being a dev that writes code by hand and working with guys that don’t write code by hand has become a hazard , coz they don’t even review PR’s anymore , you’ll literally be there begging to get eyes on your PR , they don’t even read their own agents’ code 😭 RIP PR’s

One week into Debezium (.NET outbox, Postgres, RabbitMQ) and I've hit the dangerous stage: it works and I mostly understand why. People who run CDC in production, what should I be scared of that I don't even know to be scared of yet? Perhaps some of the OG's can assist (@AntonMartyniuk , @mjovanovictech , @nickchapsas ) My setup + open questions: 1. Debezium never touches my table. It subscribes to the WAL like a read replica would. 2. The replication slot tracks its position, so crashes just resume where they stopped. 3. That same slot will quietly retain WAL and fill my disk if the connector stays down too long.

Can't relax and play video games for fun because I'm anxious I'm not grinding enough. Can't grind because I'm too exhausted. So I'm just sitting in a deadlock, doing nothing. Perfect.

The 24-29 year old engineer will soon become the most valuable asset in technology. Pre-AI principles + Post-AI speed is an undefeated combo

how to build a bootstrapped startup without funding: 1. pick a problem you personally have. if you don't use your own product daily, quit now 2. skip the pitch deck. open your code editor. ship something ugly in a weekend 3. charge money from day 1. free users give you nothing but support tickets 4. use boring tech. PHP, SQLite, vanilla JS. frameworks are a trap that mass waste your time 5. host on cheap VPS ($5-20/mo). not AWS. you don't need kubernetes for 1,000 users 6. do customer support yourself. it's the fastest product feedback loop that exists 7. automate everything you do more than twice. cron jobs > employees. 8. grow on Twitter/X by building in public. your journey IS the marketing 9. keep your burn rate near zero so you never need to raise. ramen profitable > series A 10. say no to investors, cofounders, and "advisors" who want equity for intros i've been doing this for 10+ years now. no employees, no funding, no board meetings the entire VC game is designed to make you think you need permission to start you don't

Getting through the boring period of developing an app is difficult , as the feedback is minimal , you spend quite a bit of time on ceremony , setting up Auth , App Credentials etc. Even with AI its still the boring work , might be quicker but still boring lol

“Young people don’t want to work hard anymore” No. Young people don’t want to work hard anymore…for you. You have to create a company worth working hard for.

The ability to help the ones you love when they need you? That’s not a responsibility, that’s a blessing. Forever grateful for that. 💯
