Plenty of moisture in the area combined with a lingering frontal boundary will keep rain chances in South Texas through the overnight hours. High temperatures, as a result, will be slightly-below to near-normal today. We keep the rain chances in the forecast through Tue.
The risk for flooding continues today after 1-4 inches fell across portions of the forecast area yesterday, leading to saturating soils. Additional rainfall today has the potential to lead to additional flash flooding generally along and west of Hwy 281. Remember to slow down if driving across wet roadways and always remember: Turn Around, Don't Drown!

Here's a look at rainfall totals for Thursday. Most areas received more than an inch or rain, with a few locations seeing greater than 4". Far western areas saw lower amounts, but everyone will see the chance for more through the weekend.

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for today and the temperatures are expected to remain elevated throughout the week. Stay hydrated, limit strenuous time outdoors, take frequent breaks if working outside, wear light-colored clothing, check on those most vulnerable to heat, and never leave people or pets inside a vehicle. As a reminder, our Corpus Christi Public Libraries and Senior Centers are available during their regular operating hours to seek shelter from the heat. 📚 Library locations and hours: cctx.info/libraries 🏡 Senior center locations and hours: cctx.info/seniorcenters The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority will allow individuals to ride for free upon telling their Bus Operator that they'll be traveling to the nearest City cooling center.
