My #SundayShare this week is some video analysis I have provided to one of our age groups this week. Creating a reflective and collaborative environment is the aim.
For #SundayShare, I found myself looking back through old notebooks to try and revive ideas.
Here are 2 session designs for 2 different age groups I was working with at the time.
My #SundayShare this week, I’ve been building infographics to support our coaches with examples in various scenarios, to trigger further thought and creativity.
This is surrounding build up structure examples.
When planning sessions, I like to prepare models like this to support my observation skills.
If I can support one player with one adjustment, I feel the time spent thinking about these details is worth it.
If you use similar planning techniques, what works for you?
My first #SundayShare is that I’ve begun creating a season plan for next season. Here is some ideas surrounding build up and messages to provide to specific players within the system.
My #SundayShare is an in house competition we ran for our players to end this season. Promoting lots of attacking play and camaraderie across all age groups.
6 teams in each age band, almost 350 players taking part in just under 180 total matches, scoring over 1,000 goals!
It was a pleasure to appear on @DubaiEye1038FM to discuss how we as adults (coaches and parents) can support young people to express and experience their emotions.

My #SundayShare this week is a practice based on “playing through or around opposition pressure”, with a lot of coach considerations that can provide further adaptations during the season.
My second #SundayShare is a 11v11 Tactical Session, focusing on Playing Through or Around.
Pitch designed to challenge players to find/create progress options to play through or around.
My first #SundayShare this week is a simple but effective transitional practice focusing on Penetrative Passes/Dribbles/Movements.
I was listening to Pep Ljinders on @ground_guru and wanted to explore one of his ideas further…
The players really enjoyed this practice, centred around verticality and rotations to break down a block.
I added some individual considerations to support further detail.
My second #SundayShare is a SSG variant based on playing through or around, including conditions and coaching considerations centred around the question “What does the Game Require From You?
My #SundayShare this week is a blog post centred around how we manage the match-day experience to promote longer term development, especially if results aren’t going your way.

I’ve spent the last few weeks exploring “extreme football”, stripping away the norms of positional structure and encouraging shared intention through freedom to interact with the game as the players see fit.
A rush GK, 2 anchors and 6 floaters who are free to play anywhere.
#sundayshare one of my favourite questions to ask players. “What does the game require from you?”
As the game is ever adaptable and changing, encouraging players to assess situations and manage their involvement supports adaptability and accountability.
My #SundayShare involves supporting players with success criteria on match days. Encouraging players to set their own success criteria and reflect on their performance gives the game back to the player.
My #sundayshare is a full session design supporting players with playing through/around the opposition pressure.
Here is a small sided game session plan supporting players to take opportunities to play through/around the opposition.
There are a lot of considerations, which won’t all be used at once but allow me to be adaptable to how the session progresses.
For #SundayShare this week, I’ve begun using a periodisation plan that I’ve built to support my planning for this term. Might need to zoom in to read!
I want to be more deliberate in my longer term planning this year. Any feedback would be amazing ⚽️
