Jason Oppenheim, founder of Oppenheim Group ($5B+ in real estate sales), just sold his Bentley for a @Tesla Model Y and is so blown away by FSD that he’s buying Teslas for 10 employees: "This is the most important video I've ever posted. Tesla's self-driving is life-changing. It's so safe. I was on the phone with my brother last night, and I made him buy one. He literally bought one while we were talking. I'm buying 10 of my employees a Tesla with FSD. It's 8x safer than the average driver. There's nothing more important than the safety of you and your loved ones. Let's make our communities safer. I hope you'll at least consider going and getting a test drive." I've been saying for a couple months now that FSD has become a material driver of Tesla sales in North America. Some people said it's just been anecdotal evidence, but more and more videos and stories like this are popping up. It's not anecdotal anymore. Word is spreading fast. FSD is going mainstream. Jason's full video linked in thread below.

This is a Counter-Reformation for the age of AI. If only the Church of England could recover its sense of the symbolic and sacramental, instead of self-promoting and anxious episcopal PR.

AI-Native Service Companies @gustaf The total spend on services is many times larger than the spend on software, and a lot of those services are already outsourced, which makes them easier to replace with an AI-native product. We're excited about companies that don't sell a tool to help you do the work: they just do the work.

Why did Silicon Valley succeed? Because it united all the entrepreneurs who were told by society they couldn't change the world.

A stunningly beautiful novel, The Leopard (1958), offers truths that echo today: "If we want everything to remain as it is, everything must change." We are moving from Mutual Assured Destruction to Mutual Assured Disconnection (MAD 2.0). We are moving from the IGRC to N Korea as the most important systems bug, from smashing bones to building scaffolding for all of humanity, from an OS based on oil and gas to one based on a Universal GitHub. The blockade of the Straits isn't just an act of war; it’s an Access Denied message to the old world. Read here about Tancredi, The Prince, and the Missing Scientists. We are in a humanity-wide systems defrag and upgrade - a digital Risorgimento. open.substack.com/pub/drpipp…

Introducing USVC - a single basket of high-growth venture capital, for everyone. No accreditation required, SEC-registered, and a very low $500 minimum. Includes OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Sierra, Crusoe, Legora, and Vercel. As USVC adds more companies, investors will own a piece of that too. Liquidity typically comes when companies exit, but we’re aiming to let investors redeem up to 5% of the fund every quarter. This isn’t guaranteed, but if we can make it work, you won’t be locked up like in a traditional venture fund. It runs on AngelList, which already supports $125 billion of investor capital. And I’ve joined USVC as the Chairman of its Investment Committee. — Go back to the 1500s, you set sail for the new world to find tons of gold - that was adventure capital. Early-stage technology is the modern version. It says we are going to create something new, and it’s risky. It’s daring. But ordinary people can’t invest until it’s old, until it’s no longer interesting, until everybody has access to it. By the time a stock IPOs, most of the alpha is gone. The adventure is gone. Public market investors are literally last in line. This problem has become farcical in the last decade. Startups are reaching trillion dollar valuations in the private markets while ordinary investors have their noses up to the glass, wondering when they’ll be let in. Investing in private markets isn’t easy. You need feet on the ground. You need judgment built over years. Most people don’t have the patience to wait ten or twenty years for an investment to come to fruition. But there is no more productive, harder-working way to deploy a dollar than in true venture capital. USVC enables you to invest in venture capital in a broad, accessible, professionally-managed way, through a single basket of innovation, focused on high-growth startups, at all stages. It is how you bet on the future of tech: the smartest young people in the world, working insane hours, leveraged to the max, with code, hardware, capital, media, and community. Your dollar doesn’t work harder anywhere. There is an old line - in the future, either you are telling a computer what to do, or a computer is telling you what to do. You don’t want to be on the wrong side of that transaction. USVC lets you buy the future, but you buy it now. Then you wait, and if you are right, you get paid. Get access here: usvc.com
Announcing: USVC AngelList exists to power the innovation economy. To date, we have powered $125 billion in assets, 25,000+ funds, and 13,000+ startups. Today, we’re opening it for retail access. @usvc_ is a regulated fund that holds stakes in promising private companies. There are no accreditation requirements and anyone can get started with as little as $500. Early portfolio includes xAI, Anthropic, OpenAI, Sierra, Vercel, Crusoe, and Legora. Own a stake in the companies defining the future. Learn more: usvc.com/

The post may imply more direct access than the filings support. Per the fund’s own filings, liquidity is board-controlled, fees include up to 3% sales load + 1.00% management fee + acquired fund fees, and exposure may be via SPVs/VC funds, not direct stakes. usvc.com/documents/USVC…

Retardmaxxing: The Next Great Modern Philosophy? Enjoy your life, work hard, and don't overthink it. @Chamath: “(Marc) Andreessen has been tweeting about this guy that he watches who posts these videos about retardmaxxing.” @Jason: “A genius.” Chamath: “ I watched the videos. It's incredible.” Jason: “ He goes on his back deck, he's got a Weber grill, he pops out a cigar, and he says, ‘Listen, it doesn't matter. Just go to work and enjoy your life.’” Because you are overthinking it, folks. Just enjoy your life, work hard, and don't think it through.” CC: @ElishaDLong

🎯 "Everybody had a 4.0. They were crushing it. They loved college. And I was like, well, what's the worst part? They're like: lectures are a total waste of time. Four of them had written to their school papers about, can we stop the charade that are these lectures? 200 people in class. None are paying attention. They're all scrolling TikTok or just doing other stuff. The teacher is terrible. My daughter is a math & English major, and she's like, I just use @_MathAcademy_. She always had disdain for me, like, you should go to class dad. And once she finally went, she's like, okay, I get it. You skip class because it's a total waste of time." (discussed ~1:28:26)
