According to the sheriffsβ lawyer, one of the definitions of extremist in the stateβs rules includes the βpublic marginalizationβ of someoneβs gender.
So the sheriffs sued.
Their lawyer asked a simple question: what about a sheriff whose church teaches there are two genders?

I respect Joe immensely and heβs earned his opinion on topics like this through honorable service and unimaginable sacrifice. But I disagree.
The dignity and decency of the fabric of our great nation is fully present in the fact this traitor is alive 16 years after turning a gun on his fellow service members and declaring allegiance to our enemies. He has received a fully adjudicated sentence and if we are righteous in the use of capital punishment then the society mandating it should have the right to see what that actually is.
Executing someone stands as both an act of justice for the victims and a promise fulfilled to would be offenders.
All executions mandated by the will of the people should happen before the eyes of the people.
If it is too ugly to see, perhaps then it is too ugly to do.
But let me not mince words.

My 82-year-old aunt had a lung biopsy done two weeks ago.
The doctor told her theyβd have the pathology report ready within five business days.
Friday afternoon rolled around. No call.
She dialed the clinicβs main desk, her voice shaking with anxiety.
The receptionist cut her off before she could finish explaining:
βDoctor doesnβt give results over the phone anymore. All lab findings are automatically released to your MyChart patient portal.β
My aunt said, βSweetheart, I donβt have a computer. I have a landline on my kitchen wall. Can the doctor just tell me if I have cancer?β
The receptionist sighed into the receiver:
βItβs hospital network policy. We canβt bypass the portal. Youβll have to have a family member create an account and view the file.β
My aunt spent an entire seventy-two-hour weekend sitting in her recliner, gripping her reading glasses, convinced she was dying.
