It's all a game.
The attacks. The scapegoats. Cheap capital, expensive capital, and the price you pay for either.
Sometimes you're on offense, sometimes on the fence, sometimes on defense. Don't take it personally... it's not really real. You're just a variable in an equation. Getting attacked, or not, is part of the game. Nothing personal. But stay aware.
Take it personally and you're running on narrow fuel... adrenaline and anger.
Shut your mouth. Be offended. Give them a mild smile. Then come back and fuck them up. The game is yours to win.
Know what the game is, how it works, what the rules are. Then break all of them and make your own.
Building has never been easier, so building isn’t the edge anymore...
What matters now is the right idea, your judgment, and distribution...
execution is cheap but it still depends on your taste. ai gives you fifty versions, and you have to know which one is right...
and since everyone can build now, getting heard is the hard part. get the idea and the distribution right and the rest follows....
Numbers are right but the comparison is off...
Money gets counted by where the company is based, not where the founder is from. Tons of indian founders incorporate in the US so that capital shows up as american...
Dev headcount never drove capital anyway... investment follows customers, enterprise budgets, exits and compute. US wins on all four.
And github headcount doesn't really mean much. India has so many young people in college, and almost every one of them makes a github account because thats just what you do to get an internship or job. So the number looks huge, but it doesn't mean all of them are active or actually shipping code. US still contributes far more volume with fewer people...
The ambition point is fair tho... capital does shape ambition. But I'm not sure that these charts prove it...
We now have the cheapest energy humanity has ever seen. and most people have no idea.
look at this chart. every yellow line is some expert saying solar will slow down. the black line is what actually happened. 3x more than they predicted. 600+ GW in one year.
and countries like India with all this sun are gonna win big from it. cheap electricity means we can finally fix our grids, put most cars on electric or hybrid, build so much more.
yes it can still go wrong. there's a lot of work to do. but man, I'm so hopeful about where this is going.
