Once again, special teams mistakes and costly turnovers doomed the Bobcats in their loss against arch-rival UTSA. Now sitting at 0-2 with an improving North Texas squad coming into town, the Bobcats are in the danger zone.

A couple of these points have unfortunately been a common theme during the Kinne era.
- defense not being able to close it out in crunch time
- offense going conservative instead of keeping the throttle down
It’s an exhausting way to watch football.
Absolutely UNACCEPTABLE loss by Texas State.
You’re up 17-7 at halftime, at HOME, against your biggest rival and somehow find a way to piss the game away.
The coaching decisions were awful. The play calling got conservative when we needed to put the game away. Special teams AGAIN cost us points, and at some point we need to have a serious conversation about the kicking situation. You cannot keep leaving points on the field and expect to win close games.
Turnovers. Missed opportunities. Questionable coaching. Missed kicks. And a defense that couldn’t close it out.
This wasn’t Texas beating us because they had better talent. This was a WINNABLE game that Texas State gave away.
You want to be taken seriously in the Pac-12? You CAN’T lose games like this.

One of the most justified field storming’s of all time. Oklahoma State was 1-11 last year and lost to Tulsa by 14 last week. Stunning.

1. Cunanan can’t touch the field again.
2. Brad Jackson has to be better.
3. Defense was fine for most of the game, but that last drive was awful.

In the most inexplicable decision of the day, Texas State sends Cunanan back out for the extra point. He misses it.
That made no sense. Bonilla just hit a 51-yarder. Why in the world would you still be sending Cunanan out there???

That was a horrendous sequence of plays.
Jackson misses a wide-open touchdown on second down, then misses a tougher throw to Dawn, even though it was open.
Then, Cunanan misses another chip-shot field goal. Texas State needs to wake up.
