"The Last Stand of Fox Company" by Bob Drury and Tom Calvin about so many of our Marines being completely surrounded at the Chosin Reservoir. Brutal to read given the totally horrendous -40 temperatures and waves of suicidal enemy charges. Mad respect to those men.
What’s your favorite Korean War book?

The Hoover Institution described the 1990s as a “great gubernatorial revival,” when governors spearheaded ambitious reforms to welfare, education, and public safety rather than waiting for a Congress. It can happen again. @American_Habits americanhabits.org/is-it-tim…

One of the interesting things about living in North Carolina is that you actually get very good at familiarizing and placing all the regional New York accents.
This is a map of people who moved from New York to North Carolina and people who moved from New York to Florida and then moved to North Carolina.

The other day I was like “that’s definitely Long Island” and then a few minutes later: “She’s definitely from Brooklyn.”

My three-year-old son is having a birthday party this week and got his seven-year-old brother to make it very clear who is not invited. He’s very insistent that only mature and big kids (like him, he claims) can come to his party. Also, not a great grammar look.

My wife just asked me a question about “Custard’s Last Stand” and I’m literally shaking from laughing so hard.

I’m not going to try and pretend I have the social graces and mannerisms of an 18th century Virginia planter but camping out for a grocery store seems a little undignified.
These folks from Lexington, South Carolina camped out at Charlotte’s first Wegmans. They got here at 5 pm yesterday. The store opens at 9 am! @wsoctv

What if most of the drivers for even bigger government are cultural and not really about economic conditions?
