Appreciation post for DickBats on this #BatmanDay because it's only fair to remember how good Dick Grayson has been at donning successfully the most iconic Cowl in comic history. Twice. 🤩🦇

Morrison has their caveats but they’re still the only writer who actually gets it

Matt Reeves doomscrolling NONE of us are safe 😭 😭
Because the level of precision and control over the image you have shooting digitally is indispensable. You know exactly what you are getting. The film out process and choice of lenses allows you to bring a more organic, analog quality back to what you’ve shot. A beautiful, and carefully developed imperfection.

Let it be known that any Greig Fraser slander should be directed at his decision to shoot those beetles movies over sequels to his best work rather than his bodies of work This is still top 5 best looking films this decade, maybe the best looking superhero movie ever
That Batman shot looks great but you guys are getting a bit carried away with the Greig Fraser slander. This is the standard!

Ngl I’d lowkey crap myself if I spoke on Matty without bringing him up by name with not even 1k likes and he still quoted my tweet to clock me with artistic knowledge. I will never speak ill of this man EVER. Jokes aside, what an honor to have such an auteur involved in making a superhero movie. I view Matt Reeves as much of a blessing to the genre as I do Alex Ross. Pure master of the craft.

Whenever people do their “manga vs comics” debates, which are really just superheroes vs manga debates, I wonder nobody ever brings up that superheroes generally have way better video games

why not just shoot on film instead of going though this film out process?

I saw Guardians of the Galaxy 4 times in theaters I’ve seen The Suicide Squad legitimately 20 times I’ve seen Superman 5 times I do not rewatch movies generally Not everyone is a Gunn fan and that’s okay, but as someone who has read comics since I was 6, and literally read 10,000+ comics not exaggerating, James Gunn has a feeling to his movies that just…seem to get it better than any other director I’ve seen try to do a comic book movie. I’m not saying his movies are perfect either, but when I think comic book movie now it’s his where other directors I feel make superhero films but they don’t feel very comic booky I can’t wait to see where this all goes
You cannot tell me this isn't the best version of DC superheroes we have ever gotten.

Way too far out to predict anything
Clayface is expected to gross $20M to $26 million in its first weekend in the US. It needs only 100M to break even (Via: Box Office Theory)
