The new Meta commercial introducing Muse uses Hustlin’ by Rick Ross. My 6-year-old just asked me how I knew that song. 😭😭😭
Objectively good for the sport btw
Tony Vitello grew up at Busch Stadium. Ahead of the series, he took some time to walk around the ballpark, revisit old memories and simply take it all in.
“I looked over and remembered, a high school guy eating leftover nachos in this stadium probably doesn’t belong in that spot…”
Great stuff from the first-year MLB skipper⤵️

My first grader is in the back seat mock drafting on his iPad at 6:50 in the morning on the way to school/work. Prepping for our upcoming family fantasy football league draft.
He’s a sicko. I’m so proud.
Timing it up perfect.
Dave Roberts on the Dodgers offense, via @Alden_Gonzalez:
“This has been four, five, six weeks of below-average production from our offense.”

The most valuable pregame signal in football might be whether the head coach decided normal pants would not cut it.
I spent an unreasonable amount of time classifying what NFL head coaches wore on the sideline over 15 seasons. I found 64 games where at least one coach wore what I classified as rain pants or weather shell pants.
The game finished under the closing total in 48 of them and over in 16. That is 75 percent unders, with those games finishing 5.8 points below the closing number on average.
These were closing totals. The market had all week to see the forecast and price the weather.
My theory is that rain pants capture the last mile of hyperlocal information. During pregame, the coach gets to stand on the exact field, feel the actual wind and rain, and decide that normal pants are not sufficient.
The play by play supports the idea. Teams averaged 50 fewer passing yards and passing EPA collapsed.
The next step is simple. Watch the pregame sideline. If you see rain pants, plan on severely downgrading expectations for the passing game and overall scoring.
Forecasts are regional. Rain pants are field level.
You look at the potential Dodgers starting rotation and tell me Yoshinobu Yamamoto isn’t the most under-appreciated pitcher in baseball.
Did the Dodgers just hit the proverbial Red Button that has always been associated to the Oklahoma City Thunder?
At an all-time low just now realizing the guy from the poker scene in Training Day is the same dude from Breaking Bad.
