Internal documents regarding the registration of the "Deadlock" trademark have been published for the first time. ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶C̶o̶m̶m̶i̶s̶s̶i̶o̶n̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶O̶c̶c̶u̶l̶t̶ ̶A̶f̶f̶a̶i̶r̶s̶ The Patent Office rejected Valve's registration for the Deadlock trademark in 2025 because the word "Deadlock" was already part of the Battlestar Galactica brand (Deadlock, i.e., the 2nd part). And so, the lady at the commission decided that because of the distribution format (a video game), Valve had no right to use the word Deadlock.
