Spotlight for #ParkinsonsAwarenessMonth :
Participant Dave has been on a quest to play the Top 100 GB&I Golf Courses to raise money for @CureParkinsonsT and raise awareness for Parkinson’s: “I undertook this quest not just to raise money for Parkinson’s research,...
...but to encourage those living with it to stay active where possible – Golf involves full body exercise, low key cognitive skills and social interaction”

I am delighted to be leading this exciting project – the first time a drug specifically applied to a genetic cause of Parkinson’s has reached this level of trial in the #ambroxol trial @CureParkinsonsT
(1/2) Breaking news: A large phase 3 trial of ambroxol currently used to treat cough inflammation is to start in early 2023. This world-first trial will aim to establish its potential to slow the progression of Parkinson’s.

Changes in the GBA gene (which can cause #GaucherDisease), are some of the most important known risk factors for developing PD. RAPSODI is interested in understanding this link, so that we can develop better diagnostic procedures and disease management strategies for PD.
