Many Americans don't want affordable housing They want utopian housing They want it to be single family, in the nicest most desirable neighborhoods and spacious or larger and beautiful and charming and also cheap They talk about beautiful European apartments but then you see Americans visiting Europe and complaining about how many stairs (no elevator) or no AC or no storage or there is only 1 bathroom etc in a lot of city center apartments Where do you put all this new utopian housing in the most desirable neighborhoods that are already built out?

Maybe we should be prioritizing pro-natalist policies when it comes to homeownership so housing can be continuously built, retirees are incentivized to downsize, and couples with children can move in

Super bizarre clip. He starts by saying that young people can't find/afford housing in LA, then says that LA really hasn't built anything for the last 30 years (true!) But then he closes by saying it's wrong for the state to force LA to build more housing! 🥴
Angelenos shouldn’t have to leave the city they call home just to afford a home. We need more housing, and we need residents to have a voice in where and how it’s built. That means thoughtful planning, addressing affordability, and listening to the neighborhoods these decisions affect. Building LA’s future starts with listening to the people who live here.

Listening to the existing residents in the neighborhoods IS WHY WE ARE IN THIS MESS Our Missing Middle LA hearings are bringing out people who claim ADUs are like trailer parks. You wanna listen to them? How sad, considering that most of his overall platform is what we need – at West Hollywood, CA

performative leftism is so pathetic. Zohran is not above criticism but what is this for? I truly despise these people. we are witnessing a mass extinction event, common sense & intellectualism are literally dead. in other words im calling the protesters stupid + pathetic.
Mamdani is stone-faced as the protesters call him a traitor and sellout.

Everyone’s been talking about the outrageous pricing and nickel and diming for years Then layer in online/ app gambling If you want $50 mid pasta and $10 water you can just order it for delivery sitting in your house
Downtown Las Vegas is dying💀 The hotels are half empty. Table game wagering was down 30% in August.

🚨@AngieNixon SCHOOLS an Ashley Moody disruptor at a press conference: “The Black Panther Party saw that people didn’t have access to quality healthcare. They popped up free health clinics because the government was failing to ensure that people had a safety net. They started free health clinics and that’s been replicated by organizations all across the country who are in communities when people like @AshleyMoodyFL decide to vote to end healthcare for over 440,000 people here in the state of Florida!”

respectfully, vast majority of people in LA want our limited funds going to functional streets, parks, transit, and staffed/well funded departments.. not massive reconstruction projects with immediate budget issues (~100 mil/yr) and economic benefits decades to come
The after-the-fact case against the LA convention center is bad bc: 1) Between AEG investment and Oceanwide it’s already spurring economic and tax rev activity well beyond projections and it’s not even done 2) it’s happening and the city HAS to make it as successful as possible.

After a good day or so of seeing all the comments and RT's about this clip, I may have to admit that online niggas are terrible niggas 🤦🏾‍♂️😂
Marc Lamont Hill's wife, Dr. Melissa, got emotional while talking about aging as a Black woman. She said she hates the way she's aged, and that after having her son, it felt like she aged overnight. To her, it felt like she gave up her beauty to become a mother.

If you are struggling to afford housing in America You MUST understand how housing gets built You need institutions Institutional money provides billions in capital all across America to build housing Some of it gets built by institutions running big apartments and development More housing IS GOOD FOR YOU! Look at places that have built a ton of housing! It has pushed all those slumlords and not updated properties or poorly managed/maintained ones to either step up or sell and pushed rents down as people left for NEW HOUSING! You WANT developers to make money. You want to get paid for work too yes? Ok so if developers make money they want to build more housing Do you know who shouldn't be making more money? Government who is charging more and more and more and making it harder to build housing via impact fees, permit fees, inclusionary zoning aka affordable housing mandates, more code & safetyism and zoning that restricts what gets built Look at SF or NYC who loves to regulate the shit out of everything or just won't approve new housing- is housing cheap there? No
Too rich for subsidy. Too stretched for luxury. Our tenants' incomes are too high for true affordable housing. They don't make enough to live in luxury housing, and their family lifestyle doesn't fit that. Workforce housing using private equity provides housing for these middle income families. It serves a deeply underserved middle market: non-subsidized housing for working class families.

This is an indictment on everything in America. No one thinks, people are bluntly too freaking lazy, don't want to understand how anything works. The same people want people to leave so less people to pay for infrastructure, their community to stop growing- sometimes the idiots JUST BOUGHT and are suing more development but also want no property taxes to pay for anything but will scream when things fail or their houses flood. But its ok for us to pay to upgrade their homes the 4x its flooded.

The City of Pasadena made a plan to underground their wires and said that at the pace we can fund and do the work, under-grounding will be nearly done in **500 years.** This was stated on the plan.
