🚨🚓 D&C Police downgraded to Level 3!!
What happened to Devon & Cornwall Police in recent years?
And not even 4 months after its below-par PEEL inspection (reported in June 2026), D&C get downgraded further.
My local force and where I served is now one of only 2 forces now at L3 of HMIC’s new Police Performance grading system.

No formal response on D&C site, but CC James Vaughan QPM quoted on BBC emphasising the positives:
"I will continue to review and reshape the wider leadership team to ensure we have the capability, capacity and focus required to drive improvement and deliver sustainable change. It is also important to recognise several areas where Force performance continues to improve. Our crime levels are stabilising, and we have had a second consecutive year of declining anti-social behaviour.”
