Somewhere in early Pleistocene Argentina... even the fierce, hyena-jawed giant raccoon Chapalmalania is at risk of being slain by Pampaluctor, the last and most powerful of the thylacosmilids! The first carnivorans to arrive to South America did encounter these mofos after all!

The Ice Age woolly rhinoceros may have owed much of its evolutionary success not to the frozen Siberian landscapes with which it is most closely associated, but to the more temperate regions of Eurasia, a sweeping new analysis of ancient DNA and Pleistocene habitats suggests.

Everyone, not just Americans, should be infuriated about the news regarding Trump delisting wolves from the endangered species list.
The Mexican wolf in particular is a unique subspecies at risk.
Its ancestors were among the first lineage of modern wolves to enter NA.

If you’re claiming to do scicomm and then refusing to acknowledge the input of actual professionals in the field you claim to represent or stamp your foot like a toddler when you’re corrected, just admit you’re not doing scicomm. It’s just misinformation

The way westerners look at wolves has always been abhorrent and nothing makes this clearer than the current news from USA. These animals belong on those lands. Learn to cohabit. So thankful I was born in India where despite all else the public retains a sense of conservation.

Correct me if I’m wrong…
But don’t wolves prey on deer (and other animals more than cattle). Deer, which are hosts for ticks, ticks which are increasing in pop. and spreading bc deer are uncontrolled. Ticks that spread alpha-gal syndrome… which prevents you from eating… meat…
ACTION 2 OF 4: COMBATTING PREDATION
RANCHERS HAVE A RIGHT TO DEFEND THEIR HERDS.
@POTUS signed an Executive Order directing a review of whether gray and Mexican wolves have met recovery goals — and action to delist or downlist them where appropriate.
The order also strengthens compensation for livestock losses and expands tools to address wolves threatening livestock or human safety.

What a sad story of the persecution of grey wolves. Such a low numbers for such a huge country as USA. For the perspective, here in Lithuania in a far smaller country the size of West Virginia, we have 650-1000 wolves. And it is thought, the numbers are still not fully recovered.

Cancer is all the rage, but I’ve said plenty and I need to get back to the business of living.
Cult movie icon Bruce Campbell declined to share what type of cancer he has, but said that he has a life expectancy of five years 'give or take.' usatoday.com/story/entertain…

I'm going to be sick... mentioned here is the Mexican Grey wolf, of wish there are only a mere 300 remaining. Not that the few thousand Grey wolves are far removed. We worked so hard to bring them back from near extinction, this is awful
President Trump ordered the Interior Department to begin the process of removing endangered-species protections for gray wolves.
That would “open the door for brutal killing,” said Kitty Block, president and CEO of Humane World for Animals. wapo.st/4i9jS2x

just a reminder that the U.S government has already tried doing this in the 1900s for the exact same reason and it led to yellowstone national-park turning into a complete wasteland

Unpopular opinion, museums should not have to close bc lack of funding. My taxes should be going to them and not some foreign country to bomb civilians

I try so hard not to be political, but using a recent death (Cullen's ties to Optimus) to glaze the president is just an embarrassment. It's not an own, its just incredibly superficial and lame.
