The United States budget deficit approached $2 trillion in the 2026 fiscal year, its highest level since the pandemic, as spending on the military, safety net programs and interest on the debt dwarfed the Trump administration’s cost cuts, Treasury Department figures showed on Friday. Yes, the scale changes from picture to picture but the trend is clear: EV adoption merrily moves upwards around the world. With oil refineries around the world being bombed it’s only logical that this trend speeds up further.

Containers from the sunk container ship have started to spread.
This is a hazard for sailboats and smaller ships, as hitting a partially submerged container can easily rip the hull open.
It can break a large ship propeller shaft too.
US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment.
Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.
White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia’s husband, Tyler Zacharia, helped expand Schulze Global Investments (later SGI Frontier Capital) into North Korea while based in China, where Katie also previously lived.
The firm made three loans to North Korean mining companies in 2008 and provided a $1 million loan to a North Korean conglomerate in 2011, while U.S. sanctions on North Korea were in effect.

In Bulgaria, near Sofia, two masked individuals set fire to 11 of the 17 SpaceX antennas providing Starlink connectivity.
According to Bulgarian MP Ivaylo Mirchev, these stations provided backbone connectivity to satellites, including for Ukraine.
Mirchev called on the security services and the Interior Ministry to explain what had happened:
"It was no coincidence that these particular antennas were set on fire. They provide the backbone communications link to these satellites. The same thing happened to similar antennas in Poland at the end of September."
Bulgarian PM Rumen Radev refused to disclose details of the suspected arson, citing the ongoing investigation, BNR News reports.
The Interior Ministry said that security at similar facilities had already been stepped up.

And at this very moment, Trump decides to withdraw support from Ukraine.
Ukraine was unprepared for the restrictions on Starlink and the lack of intelligence data from the West.
The loss of this support "caught the Ukrainian military completely off guard," writes the *Financial Times*, citing a senior Ukrainian government official. According to him, the restrictions were implemented "without warning, simply in the middle of the night."
This complicated logistics for Ukrainian forces at the front. It also made it harder for the Ukrainian military to strike Russian supply lines.
Let’s assume, for the sake of argument, that for Trump it isn't about values but about money—following the adage that "money makes the world go round," and so on. But—damn it—providing intelligence data and operating Starlink doesn't cost the average American a single cent!
How will American voters react to such blatant betrayal of an ally that has been defending itself—and Europe—against a vastly superior adversary for nearly five years?
According to many military experts, the situation at the front is currently more difficult for the Russian army than at any time since September 2022.
And at this very moment, Trump decides to withdraw support from Ukraine.
Coincidence?
