after spending more than a year working on @ZeraLabs and believing we could build something better than 99.9% of the crypto larps and scams out there, me and the team who actually built it from the initial idea -- from branding to tech to community -- eventually found ourselves dealing with an unscrupulous pathological liar. we gave him too much power and he destroyed the project, wasting the funding on god knows what and running away with the rest without executing any of our initial agreements and plans as a core team. to be fully honest, i saw it coming but refused to accept it. i was emotionally attached, and we had already poured in an enormous amount of time and energy. when the person who’s supposed to lead starts dragging everyone down, you can only slow the damage, not avoid it after the mess i took a couple months to touch grass and recover from the burnout. then i started dipping my toes back into the market as an investor and trader, trying to rebuild after roundtripping 7 figures the past year from zera and other projects trading started badly. after spending most of the last year buried in zera i was rusty, and the market had shifted a lot on top of that. it cost me a decent amount of money before i hit a few solid plays and one really good one that unrugged me and put me nicely back in profit now even though my portfolio is up, i’m don't feel satisfied with this at all. especially right now, way too mentally draining. it’s not just the bear market -- the whole crypto space has turned into an absolute shithole. bad actors are running the game harder than ever. the extraction from serial bundler "devs"/deployers and shady kols is at ath, while most people get absolutely demolished, especially the ones who just started their journey onchain established companies and newly launched ones endorsed by big names are shamelessly part of the same game, grifting and farming participants. just look at the timeline.. i don’t remember sentiment being this bad since i started full-time crypto in 2021. obviously there are levels to this extraction game, and today’s sophisticated scams are on another level. even the old known farmers are getting farmed and crying on the timeline while everyone is pointing fingers at each other. absolute shitshow. after all the internal and external observations over the past months, i feel like it's time to go back to my roots and what makes me satisfied in life: creating, building and solving problems alongside other neurodivergent brains who thrive together and give back to the community. not only in crypto but life in general it’s time to turn the table
