In history class, I never understood how “advanced” civilizations could collapse. It just didn’t seem plausible.
Anyway, I’ve seen enough. I get it now.

Here we go. We are delaying the bad news until November 4th or one day after the election. Please make a plan to vote; it is up to all of us to do our part.
The Trump admin is moving forward on plans to impose financial penalties on Americans in default on their federal student loans and hire private debt collectors to go after them.
The plans are unlikely to be announced until after the midterms. washingtonsun.com/economy/tr…

For US citizens or documented residents/vistors who have their phones/laptop/diaries etc. grabbed at ports of entry, the quickest relief is a Rule 41 (g) application to the district court that covers the area of seizure. Get yourself counsel and file. Typically DOJ will fold.

BTW: I advise my clients and loved ones to NEVER, EVER do a field sobriety test.
I also advise my clients:
If you are pulled over at night, even if you didn't drink or take something you should not have, the officer is going to approach your window, ask for license and registration. He's going to take it. Then say something like, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" Then he is going to ask you where you are coming from.
Don't answer. It's none of his/her business and how he is going to try and build probable cause for anything that comes next. You don't have to answer. You can simply say, "I am invoking my right to stay silent." Don't give them a reason to all the sudden say you are slurring your words or they "smell the odor of alcohol."
And for the love of God, if you blow - SHUT THE FUCK UP. Invoke. You will never get out of an arrest.
Disclaimer: I am not your lawyer. This is general suggestions that can be confirmed on any DUI defense attorney's website. Consult counsel (not me, because I am not your counsel).

It’s best to separate by a couple of weeks. Multiple papers have found that co-administration leaves the influenza response intact, but causes a detectable decrease in the SARS-CoV-2 response.
In a 2026 meta-analysis (nature.com/articles/s41541-0…), SARS-CoV-2 antibody fold increase was 16% lower (95% confidence interval 5-26%) with co-administration. ⬇️
Novavax found the same thing in their investigation: “Co-administration resulted in no change to influenza vaccine immune response although a reduction in antibody responses to the NVX-CoV2373 vaccine was noted.”⬇️
If you’re going to get them at the same time, this 2025 meta analysis (academic.oup.com/ofid/articl…) found that it’s best to get COVID first in the appointment. The group who got COVID first: SARS2 titers were reduced by 11%, but the result didn’t reach significance, confidence interval was -22% to +2%. The group who got flu first: SARS2 titers were reduced by a slightly larger 14% and did reach significance, confidence interval was -19% to -8%.⬇️
Worth noting - in addition to the increase in reactogenicity and routine side effects with co-administration, the worst outcome that we’ve seen was an increase in ischemic stroke and TIA signals: jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…. This was in 2022 when older adults co-administered the bivalent mRNA vaccines with high-dose (FluZone HD) or adjuvanted (Fluad) flu vaccines. No evidence that it has ever carried over to Nuvaxovid, to current mRNA formulations, or to other age cohorts.
Also worth noting - If the person is co-administering Nuvaxovid and a flu shot, and is looking to apply the immune modulating benefits of Matrix-M to the flu shot, it’s a requirement to get them both in the same arm. The entire mechanism isn’t something that has been proven anyway, we just know that it definitively would not work if you administer in separate arms, because the immune response only occurs in local lymph nodes on whichever side of the body the vaccine is given.
