With water challenges requiring urgent action, Rand Water, its Water Wise team, the Rand Water Foundation and Johannesburg Water are strengthening efforts to promote water conservation, improve public awareness and align communication with municipalities.
Rand Water is also developing simple, accessible El Niño awareness messaging to help communities understand the potential impact on water availability. Planned interventions include media partnerships, community radio, public broadcasting, outdoor advertising, community outreach
and targeted water conservation initiatives. High-consumption areas will also be assessed to determine appropriate interventions.
