Molts pregunteu quants indrets hi ha a Catalunya amb el nom d'1 d'Octubre, U d'Octubre o Primer d'Octubre. Places, carrers, parcs, pavellons, biblioteques.. N'actualitzem la llista? Fem-ne un fil: foto de la placa i nom del municipi. Gràcies! #1Octubre #1O vilaweb.cat/noticies/carrers…

9 anys de l’1O, vam guanyar democràticament i humanament. Milions de catalans vam fer coses que ni imaginàvem que faríem. Està a les nostres mans tornar-hi, fent-ho encara millor. Toca un nou impuls, definitiu, prou de llepar-nos les ferides i creuar-nos retrets. Tornem-hi!

Fender Friday my friends! We made it through another work week! And we also celebrated Bruce's 77th birthday! So let's end the week with arguably Bruce's most iconic songs. The masterpiece known as Thunder Road. Thunder Road is ultimately a song about taking a chance before the chance disappears. Opening Born to Run in 1975, it introduces many of the ideas that run through the album: youth, escape, loneliness, love, uncertainty, and the belief that somewhere beyond the life you know, something better might still be waiting. The song begins quietly and intimately. Mary is standing on the porch while the character arrives with an invitation. But he isn’t promising her a fairy tale. In fact, that’s part of what makes the song so powerful. These aren’t perfect young people confidently racing toward a guaranteed happy ending. Remember: "I'm no hero that's understood.."They’re vulnerable, getting older, carrying disappointments and wondering whether some of their dreams may already have passed them by. "Don't run back inside, darling You know just what I'm here for So you're scared and you're thinking That maybe we ain't that young anymore" Bruce turns those risks into an argument for trying anyway. The character sees something in Mary that perhaps she no longer sees in herself. He’s essentially telling her that neither of them has to be beautiful, fearless or certain about the future. They simply have to decide whether they’re willing to step off that porch and find out what is still possible. And the escape isn’t really about a car or a highway. It’s about refusing to surrender to your own fears. That’s why the song becomes increasingly more powerful as it goes along. It begins with two people on a porch and gradually opens into highways, towns, ghosts, dreams and possibility. But Thunder Road isn’t automatically optimistic. There’s sadness underneath it. The narrator knows time is moving. He knows dreams don’t automatically come true. He knows there are people who once believed they were going somewhere and never made it out. That awareness is precisely why leaving matters. "We got one last chance to make it real To trade in these wings on some wheels Climb in back, heaven's waiting down on the tracks" At its heart, Thunder Road asks one of the defining Springsteen questions: Do we allow our disappointments to determine what happens next—or do we take one more shot at the life we once imagined? Fifty-plus years later, that’s probably why Thunder Road still means so much to us. When you’re young, it can sound like a song about getting out of town. As you get older, it can become something much bigger—a reminder that hope isn’t believing everything will work out. Sometimes hope is simply having the courage to go while the road is still open. The music tells the story too The construction of “Thunder Road” is brilliant because the music matches the emotional journey. Opening Harmonica. Accompanied Piano. Bruce’s voice. The Screen Door Slams.. Mary's dress...(let's leave it at that peeps 😜) It feels intimate—almost as though we’re standing close enough to overhear the conversation on Mary’s porch. But gradually the song grows. More instruments arrive. The possibilities become larger. The emotional stakes increase. And eventually the song that began with one woman standing behind a screen door becomes huge. That’s exactly what is happening. Mary’s world is getting bigger. By the end, we’re no longer standing on the porch. We’re already imagining the highway. “It’s a town full of losers…” The ending is what transforms Thunder Road from a beautiful song into something incredible. Bruce could have ended it romantically. Instead, he gives us one of the most famous propositions in his entire catalog: they’re surrounded by people whose dreams didn’t work out—and they’re leaving to try to win. But “winning” doesn’t necessarily mean fame, money or success. @springsteen #springsteen
