UPDATE: Thirteen people now face federal charges in the fraud investigation involving Legacy Imigra, the company accused of making millions by exploiting immigrants seeking lawful status in the United States.
In April, OCSO detectives worked alongside Homeland Security Investigations to dismantle the operation, which allegedly promised clients immigration attorneys and legal services it could not provide.
Today, U.S. Attorney Gregory Kehoe announced federal indictments involving wire fraud, visa fraud and marriage fraud. Sheriff John Mina also shared an important update: We have recovered nearly $1.7 million belonging to approximately 200 victims. Those funds remain in the forfeiture process, with the goal of returning the money to victims.

Sidney Hill, an operations manager in the Durban area, was pulling out of the driveway of the Lea Place home the family had moved into only days earlier in their Toyota Hilux bakkie, with his daughter in the passenger seat, when a white Renault carrying five people blocked their path.
Armed men exited and opened fire. Hill, without hesitation, drew his handgun from his side, leaned back to shield his daughter, and returned fire from the driver’s seat as the vehicle rolled forward and struck a tree amid the barrage.

A convicted former operative of the Cuban version of the KGB is running a state agency coordinating directly with DSA-linked American political organizations. Yeah, nothing to see here, right?
The DSA is a member of the National Network on Cuba. Every year, that group works hand-in-hand with a Cuban state entity called ICAP (the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples), which is sanctioned by the U.S. Treasury Department.
The president of ICAP is a convicted member of Cuba’s Wasp Network, identified in U.S. court records as operatives of the Directorate of Intelligence of Cuba, their main foreign intelligence service (basically, the Cuban KGB).
This is the global communist network the DSA is connected to.

🇫🇷 The “Book of the Apocalypse,” billed as the world’s most expensive, with a Salvador Dalí cover, has been stolen from a French museum
On the night of October 5, the “Book of the Apocalypse,” worth several million euros, was stolen from the Center for Contemporary Art in Issoire.
Early reports said the whole exhibit was taken. Prosecutors have mentioned only Dalí’s bronze cover, weighing 150 kilograms. Whether the rest was stolen is unclear.
The mayor called the loss “impossible to value.” An investigation is open.
Publisher Joseph Forêt commissioned the book in 1958–1961 from 14 artists and writers, including Jean Cocteau and Dalí, who made the bronze cover with gold and seashells. It was valued at about €305,000 in the early 1960s. Collector Christian Carutzos bought a copy in 2003.
It follows the October 2025 Louvre theft of crown jewels worth €88 million and the September 2026 theft of four Renoirs in Cagnes-sur-Mer, two of which were dumped during the getaway.

Update: A Portland, Ore. teen suspected of being a member of the "764" terror cult has been charged with domestic terrorism after a bioterrorism attack occurred at Benson High School—the school I went to.
On Sept. 8, an unnamed teen mixed dangerous chemicals in the cafeteria, causing severe injuries to himself and prompting a mass evacuation.
The 15-year-old has been charged at the state level with domestic terrorism, 12 counts of attempted m—rder and more.

TROPICAL UPDATE: Tropical development is possible in the Gulf over the next week. Next name is #Isaias. Here's the latest and what to know:
1) Stalled front this week will bring in a lot of rain for portions of the Gulf Coast, including Florida, and will also try to form a low at the tail-end of it.
2) After trending downward the past few days, models have trended back up for the future low potentially becoming a tropical or subtropical (hybrid) system. The NHC currently is giving it a 30% chance to form as of Sunday morning. Google AI and the traditional European Model are more in the 35-45% range.
3) Very warm water + lower shear in the Southwestern Gulf could support organization. The more north it gets, however, shear will increase significantly towards the Gulf Coast states...which would hurt the possible system. The big questions are...1) How much of the high wind shear will be present over the Gulf / does it retreat north and 2) Does it spend more time in lower wind shear (stronger storm) or more time in higher wind shear (weaker storm)?
4) This will be a rainmaker regardless if it develops or not along with a flood threat in hardest hit areas.
5) Current track possibilites are from Louisiana to the Florida Big Bend. This large range will narrow in the upcoming days to a more specific area.
6) Timing is tricky. As early as this Friday (10/9) - Sunday (10/11) to push onshore or as late as the following week if it trends slower.

FLORIDA FLOOD THREAT - Get ready, Florida! An astronomical amount of rain is coming over the next two weeks. Over foot of rain is possible in the Panhandle & Big Bend with widespread totals of 6+ inches likely elsewhere across Florida - which is the equivalent of 10 trillion gallons of water. This has the potential to be the wettest October on record for Florida.
