I got my only engineering internship at the water company my dad works for. He didn't work in the department but he just knew everybody. Never mentioned him durning the interview. Did my work had fun.
My first career job was a graduation position at the company my brother worked for. Why I apply cause I knew the company existed and I was willing to move. Got the job turns out there was one other guy and he kinda sucked. Completely different facility but one person on the hiring team knew my brother.
Eventually I got rotated into job that didn't last long and the position was terminated.
After a couple of months I got a new job. That pays 20k more and a new title! But guess what I probably wouldn't have got that job if I didn't have that resume that I was helpt built.
