Linoleic acid is the most abundant polyunsaturated fatty acid in the Western-style diet and has been implicated in promoting inflammation and cancer.
In Science, researchers report a mechanism by which linoleic acid can activate the mTORC1 protein kinase, which coordinates growth and nutrient signals. Learn more: scim.ag/4bxxLSN #SciencePerspective

What an inspiring event hosted last week by Boston Children's Hospital. A group of 16 fearless women lead by Nancy Hopkins were major actors in the fight for equal recognition of women scientists at MIT in 1999. We are so grateful for them and should continue their work!
I enjoyed the follow up dinner celebrations with Dr. Nancy Hopkins and Dr. Nancy Andrews, Executive Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer of Boston Children's Hospital…
... along with Dr. Sally Kornbluth, MIT President and Dr. Cindy Barnhart, MIT Provost. What a wonderful celebration of powerful Women in Science wonderfully depicted in the book of Kate Zernike @kzernike, “The Exceptions: Nancy Hopkins, MIT, and the Fight for Women in Science".
