This UNCW team has plenty of talent, but it is also trying to figure our how to play together. Saturday, it ran into a High Point team capable of highlighting the latter. What the Hawks should take from that into the preseason finale vs. UNCG: soundcloud.com/perchcast/def…

The perfect microcosm of the (non 2023-24) Joe Mazzulla Celtics playing a good team. Tough to be mad at the effort (dug in at the end) or the result (Detroit is good!), but it’s just so discouraging to see the big runs continue to be an issue.

Kudos to Pistons for turning up that defense in the second half and locking up the paint. Pretty embarassing stuff from the Celtics. Also, Javonte Green made all the difference today.

New Perchcast coming your way with @RaginTaurus! Many thoughts on what we saw (we're going to be fine; just needs time!) up at High Point, and a look ahead to Saturday's final exhibition game vs. UNCG. Questions, comments, diatribes, and anecdotes welcome!

Just a reminder it’s actually worse if your team looks good in October.

Sam Cassell on the Celtics starting a group who are mostly on E10s in the preseason finale: “They pushed our guys in training camp…Joe was like, ‘Let’s reward them.’ “…I’m pretty sure none of them will ever forget.” 🎥: @NBCSCeltics

Ron Harper Jr. on the performance from the Celtics’ starters, who are mostly on E10s, in tonight’s 125-120 win over the Sixers in the preseason finale: “The red squad got the start today, they deserve it. We were all really happy for them. “They deserve it. They’ve been working their ass off all training camp. Never complain. They just did what we asked them and they pushed us to get better. “So we rolled those five guys out in confidence. They came out here and played really well, and I’m really happy for them.” 🎥: @NBCSCeltics

Celtics coaching staff needs to take a bow for how this team has played in the preseason 1-15, they all play the same way and with same intensity. This is clearly a special group.

Absolutely insane that 2026’s most indicting movie about America’s current religious-fascist state was produced fifty-five years ago. THE DEVILS isn’t just pure cinema. It’s immediate, timely and an incredibly bold announcement from WB’s new label, Clockwork.

Tossed an alley oop for Speedy Claxton yesterday, asking him about Hofstra's ability to always find talented guards. Naturally, he dropped a @GuardUni reference and called himself The Guardfather.
