I love that you can use chemistry to solve any major issue that our world is facing. In my opinion one of the most important issues is the availability to receive the necessary health care. With my studies in chemistry, I hope to work for a pharmaceutical company to work in drug discovery/design/delivery to help make medications and health care more affordable and accessible worldwide. Current research: I am currently working toward the first total synthesis of balgacyclamide C, which could be used as a drug delivery vehicle in the treatment of cancer.

I derive immense satisfaction in the process of designing and synthesizing novel materials and studying their properties and functional mechanisms. What’s intriguing is by using available chemical synthesis methods, one has the capacity to fabricate materials hitherto unexplored, thereby expanding the frontier of scientific knowledge. Current research: Design and synthesis and design of metal organic frameworks for applications in catalysis and sensing.
