Happy anniversary to the commentary. This Day: 1921. The first ever radio sports commentary: play-by-play baseball on KDKA–Pittsburgh - by Harold Arlin, using an old phone as a mic. Spoiler alert - home win. #radiomoments

At 6PM on January 11th, 1983,
91X was born when the 91.1 frequency switched formats to the "Rock of the 80s" modern rock sound.
Here's a scan of the original song wheel from that exact day in history. Thanks for sticking with us for the past 38 years, San Diego.

I was very lucky to be a kid around some REAL legends of radio. Mr. Boyd wasn’t on-air at WBT when I was there, he’d be around from time to time though, I got to know some of his family. Thoughts to the Boyd family & Ty’s many, many friends. @RadioRewinder

This Day: 1951. Bill Meeks founded PAMS in Dallas. He’d made jingles for the sponsors of his own band’s radio show - then more ad jingles after power was proven - and then the first radio IDs, as PAMS became the first ever jingle company. audioboom.com/posts/943660-p… #radiomoments
