October 30 in all UK Cinemas. Similar dates for all other countries internationally. But I need you to not just be seated- I'm gonna need you to get people into the other seats there too. They thought I Love Boosters was down for the count. We're up on our legs and wiping blood out of our eyes.
Replying to @BootsRiley

We can contrast this directly with another Cambridge prof William O'Reilly who published work in his name that was a word for word copy of his students' work. Plagiarism. William O'Rreilly is a white man, he still has his job and only a student paper covered the case in detail.
A lot of folks saying this shouldn’t become political. But the disproportionate hounding of this man was racialised and caused his death. This is extremely political, I’m afraid.

There is a photo of Prince Andrew, brother of the UK's current head of state, fondling a clearly unconscious female child's breasts on Epstein Island. This photo is in the public domain. I'm sure you can find it here on Twitter. The entire British press has basically nothing to say about it. It's not important. But some black guy of Ghanaian descent who became a professor at Cambridge may or may not have told some porkies in his dissertation - now that for some reason is actual national news, complete with wall-to-wall TV and radio coverage! The old white men who literally rule that miserable, godforsaken umbrella island are known to be part of a transnational group of child rapists who regularly eat and fuck babies on Little St James Island, but never mind Jeffrey Epstein - this black guy's dissertation is the real important British national story! And now that he's dead, there will be a spring in all their steps tomorrow as they go out to their jobs that they hate, and gossip breathlessly about with their coworkers whom they hate, about how the death of someone who never did any harm to them has somehow improved their living condition. You have never seen a creature as abjectly miserable, wretched and beyond all help as the pink, slightly overweight post-imperial Briton who derives their entire self-esteem from reminiscing about a lost past when Brittania ruled the waves and black people knew their place.
Not a single politician linked to the Epstein files in the UK received anywhere near an iota of the scrutiny btw. No crime was committed. The debate surrounding his tenure shouldn’t have even left academic circles

Like wtf do you mean there were more black girls and women in media in the 1990s than there are in 2026 that’s supposedly meant to be a more “progressive” time period in comparison??? Disgraceful.
it really is difficult not to notice how black girls have all but disappeared from media meant for teens and twenty-somethings

Sorry but the discourse around Tyla’s identity has exposed something that deserves to be called out: expecting Africans to understand themselves primarily through a Black American racial framework, while refusing to engage with African’s countries’ racial hierarchies and colonial histories, is a form of xenocentrism that has already become xenophobic in this case. At some point there has to be intellectual curiosity from BA. Black Americans are not the only Black people with histories of racialisation, colonialism or oppression. South Africa’s racial classifications for example emerged from a distinct colonial and apartheid system with its own categories, meanings and consequences. Those histories cannot simply be overwritten by an American understanding of race, simply because Tyla wants to market herself to the BA audience. It doesn’t work like that. Tyla did not invent South Africa’s racial hierarchy any more than Black Americans invented Jim Crow or the one-drop rule. Both are products of white supremacy, but they developed differently in different places. Expecting her to reject the identity that was historically imposed, negotiated and understood within her own country simply to satisfy an American racial framework is insane.
“Being Coloured is my culture but I’m also Black.”  @Tyllaaaaaaa addresses the backlash around identifying as Coloured. A*POP out tomorrow.

Today marks 9 years since the Grenfell Tower fire. But 9 years on, there is still no justice. 9 years on & people still live in unsafe buildings. We must not forget those killed because of dishonesty and corporate greed.
